Lovely little apartment in large garden – super quiet. Simply furnished but good aircon, shower and nice shampoo and body lotion. Definitely worth it for the breakfast alone. Best ricotta cheese cake! Owner is very friendly and helpful and speaks reasonable English. The archaeological museum is almost across the road and it is a 15 minute drive to Tharros and the beaches of the Sinis Peninsula . Excellent dinner at nearby restaurant I Giganti recommended by owner. Famous winery Contini is also in Cabras but need to make booking for tasting.
It was a wonderful stay despite very disappointing weather. We enjoyed delicious breakfast with homemade pastries every morning, friendly and helpful owner, 3 lovely cats, green surroundings and comfortable facilities. Moreover, we were upgraded with a larger apartment for free. There were some mosquitoes around and the kitchen equipment is not very new, however the price is very modest too.
This guest house is well maintained and pleasant. Excellent breakfast. The attitude of hosts is courteous, caring. Help any question. A quiet and well maintained, simple and clean place. There is plenty to see and where to travel
Small chalets or terraced studios , in a lovely Mediterranean garden. We had a large very attractive room a four poster bed, a tiny kitchen, small bathroom and a covered porch with a settee and a historic mural. the Innkeeper was charming and very obliging. A delicious breakfast was served in a garden room, soft rolls with home made preserves, chesses and cold meat, , a fresh apple and lemon pastry and finally chopped orange segments, with juices, coffee and tea. there is plenty of secure parking and the accommodation is about five minutes walk from the small town of Cabras. However off season very few of the cafes/eating places were open so we struggled to find somewhere for dinner.
We stayed at Residence Sa Pintadera for 2 days in the beginning of July during our travel in Sardinia. Residence Sa Pintadera is a family run business. Owners (Anna and Pepe) are very friendly and lovely people, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They really love Cabras, and can advise you what to see and what to do. The breakfast was fantastic and delicious, made by Anna from local produce. We had a totally different breakfast each day! Anna and Pepe introduced us to local wine, cheese and bread, and also bottarga, the Italian salted delicacy of cured grey mullet roe. It is yammy with a spaghetti! Even the cats (five of them) are very friendly and make your stay feel like home! Anna made a reservation for us at the local restaurant "Sa Pischera 'e Mar'e Pontis". We were the only foreigners there surrounded by locals. Living in New York City for many years, we are difficult to be surprised by food. But we were shocked in a good way by the presentation, quality, quantity and price! If you have a chance, don't miss your opportunity to dine there! Our apartment with patio and garden view was clean, comfortable, well decorated, with equipped kitchen, and quiet. The location is great, minutes of driving to gorgeous beaches (Mari Ermi, Is Arutas, San Giovanni Di Sinis), the archaeological site Tharros Ruins and Penisola del Sinis with pink flamingos (a must see place). We would definitely recommend Residence Sa Pintadera! Thank you Anna and Pepe!…
