We stayed at the Hotel Gran Torre for 4 nights on our first trip to Sardinia & we couldn’t have wished for a better place to base ourselves. The hotel is spotlessly clean & smells beautiful throughout. The rooms are a good size, the bed extremely comfortable and the air conditioning is excellent. The hotel is in an rural location, so don’t expect amenities on the doorstep, however Gran Torre is a comfortable walk away, and Cabras & Oristano are both accessible through a taxi - which can be booked from reception. The hotel has a large pool area, which is generously spaced to avoid a feeling of being overcrowded, even during busy periods. The poolside bar staff are extremely attentive. The location is tranquil, and perfect for if you’re looking for a relaxing break. The breakfast offering is basic continental, but very nice. The restaurant does not have a huge menu, but there is a adequate choice of local dishes which are excellently prepared. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel whatever the objective of your visit to Sardinia. My wife & I feel we have found somewhere we could return to time & time when we want a relaxing break.

We stayed here two nights. It’s located out of town and can be a bit hard to find on a dark night! The property is very clean throughout and well maintained. We had a pleasant room. It was simply furnished, but quite spacious and the bed was comfy. Other guests were able to walk along a communal balcony, passed our window, so we were self conscious about having the curtains open during the day. The hot water supply was a little erratic, but mostly good. The staff were excellent, all spoke English well and were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a delight...the evening meal, not so good. The pool was great. No safe in room. No English channels on tv. Our major complaint was the poor sound insulation. We could hear every word uttered by our next door neighbours and were kept awake by their incessant talking and shrieking with laughter far into the night. If the room had been quieter, I would have given the hotel an overall score of excellent.

Conveniently located to visit the ruins of Tharros. The young lady at the reception desk was very friendly. The immediate environment is not very interesting. The menu in the restaurant is not inviting, and there are no other restaurants in the neighborhood. People were passing in front of our window through a flapping door, thus the window could not stay open at night. The mattresses were used but bathroom was OK with a good shower. A moodless hotel where often family parties are being held, with a basic breakfast.

We felt very well served. From the receptionist to the steakhouse they were very attentive and it shows that they form a very good team of work. The bedroom was very clean and very nicely decorated. The breakfast was very healthy and with lots of variety, the atmosphere was very family friendly. An unforgettable experience and well recommended.

We stayed for 12 nights in early July in a heatwave (38 degrees+) Phewww! The pool was fantastic, very clean and a much welcome relief from the heat. Other main positives about our stay was the friendliness of the staff who could not do enough to help us have an enjoyable stay. Our room was light, spacious, clean, with great A/C and free water supplied daily in the fridge. The hotel was very community minded and there was regular use of the pool by well supervised school trips and the pool was busier later in the day. We quite enjoyed this element of our stay. Together with the weekend weddings at the hotel, it gave an insight into the Sardinian culture, which is very family focused and child-friendly. One negative of our stay was the large number of mosquitoes around the area due to the swampy landscape. However, this may have been exacerbated by the heatwave. Breakfast was an amazing spread, with a great selection to accommodate varied tastes. The hotel main menu was rather limited. We did enjoy the food but portions were small and quite pricey so we tended to take a short drive to eat in Cabras or Oristano in the evenings. We found an amazing restaurant on the water's edge at S'Archittu, approximately 30 mins north of Cabras. A car is essential to explore the many beautiful coves and beaches around the west coastline (beach umbrella also recommended!). The Sinis peninsula has many sandy beaches, our favourite was San Giovanni which also hosts the tower and Tharros ruins. Take lots of euro coins for parking metres! A road trip along the costa Verdi brings unexpected delights, with winding mountain roads with spectacular views around each bend. Altogether we really enjoyed our stay and especially appreciated the smiley and welcoming reception.
