Used a Booking Site to find something near Shaftesbury (Dorset) and this little gem popped up. Small (like most old English country pubs with accommodation) but cosy, efficient and well run with good, attentive staff.

Down for a wedding. Double room with sloping ceiling in places due to eaves. Decorated nicely and looked fresh and clean. But bathroom had a strange sink tap design where the water comes out horizontally and soaks you, unless down to a trickle. Two used hairbrushes full with hair in drawers! Morning traffic noise just audible from bedroom - but...

My brother and I happened upon The Grove Arms while whizzing around Wiltshire in a caterham on a glorious sunny day. It's so often a gamble to just stop somewhere for lunch and try it out but, in the case of The Grove Arms, the gamble well and truly paid off. The warm, friendly staff provided one of the best...

We stayed 2 nights with our 3 dogs. On arrival mine host Nina welcomed us and made a fuss of our dogs - always a good start. The room was clean and nicely decorated but on the front and was quite noisy at night. We had dinner there both nights which was pub grub but nicely done with lots of...

Three of us stopped today for a late Sunday lunch. We were immediately made to feel welcome and showed to a comfortable table in a nicely decorated room with lovely artwork to admire. Great menu selection as well as Sunday Roasts and specials, and smaller portions for smaller appetites which suited me just fine as I hate wasting good food...

We recently went for a birthday lunch for my wife's birthday the main meals were very plentiful and very nice. We then ordered 2 coffees and 2 desserts which took 90 minutes to arrive. They knew there was a delay as we were told they were just coming 3 or 4 times. The whole experience left us a bit flat...
