Trout is so fresh as they have farm nearby. Anyway, skill chief is necessary to make it moist and tasty. The soup is also nice for me. Parking lot is available. Staffs are polite but cannot speak english well.

Beautiful restaurant close to world-famous Rila monastery. Staff is businesslike but has problems with english. Very nice surroundings. First course: as always tomatoes and cucumber. Main dish: trout. Delicious. The restaurant is a must.

This restaurant is a stone throw from the Rila monastery and has open air verandas and serves fresh fish from the adjacent river. The meal was enjoyable and reasonably priced. We had a grilled trout with local side dishes. Although we were there in the summer (high season) we did not experience delays with our food.

We had our first shopska salad (chopped cukes, tomatoes, peppers, Bulgarian white cheese) here, then the fresh trout served whole (you'll need to watch for bones): one fried, one grilled. Our food was very good and fresh. Service and prices both decent. We were here as a group on the way back from Rila Monastery. Nice location, able to accommodate...

Just a five-minute drive from the Rila Monastery the Gorski Kut is one of the larger roadside restaurants and is thus a main lunch stop for tourist coach parties. Expect mass catering around lunch times and queues for the modern toilets. TOP TIP if you want a quiet lunch chose one of the smaller nearby restaurants. Keep your eye open...

The restaurant is situated in a beautiful area of forest and mountains. The service was terribly slow, the soup was cold, the trout very good and the pancake ok. I would not recommend going here for a meal.

My tour guide Boris and driver took me for lunch after visiting the Rila Monastery. The restaurant is next to a beautiful river. There are many outside tables but we opted to eat inside due to the weather being unusually cold for this time of year. The driver ordered the tripe soup whilst I ordered chicken soup and the chicken...

We visited the restaurant for lunch before our visit to the Rila Monastery. it is located by a river, nice scenic environment with open garden. Tried its trout and stuffed bell pepper, and both were equally good. Many tours stopped over there for lunch.

We stopped at the restaurant here as part of our tour on the way to visit the Rila Monastery (The Monastery is about 10 minutes further up the road). We did not even notice that the property also had rooms to rent. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the Autumn temperatures and fresh air. We ordered a beer, a wine, a...

Great place to eat over looking a small stream. Had a wonderful bowl of vegetable soup with an entree of braised pork served like an open face sandwich with gravy, butter boiled potatoes and rice. It has a very pleasant atmosphere which is complimented with a meal of comfort food, particularly if you where raised in the mid-west of the...

“It's nice to get a room with a balcony on the first floor because the terrace is next to the lawn and the river. You can jump the railing of the balcony and go to the river. The balconies are large enough you can drink wine that night and listen to the river and forest sounds.”
