Good hotel in the European affairs neighborhood in Brussels: just off Place du Luxembourg in front of the EU Parliament. Room was small but the bed super confortable and bathrooms brand new, with all the toiletries and fluffy towels. The breakfast was good, with plenty of

Firstly, I don’t understand how anyone has a bad word to say about this hotel in the other reviews - the whole experience was wonderful! Stayed for two nights after this hotel was recommended to stay at by my brother who stayed here during his visit to Brussels and I cannot

Hi vijkmto Thanks very much for your very kind review We too are puzzled by some of the negative comments posted on Tripadvisor. If I can put reviews in some sort of context...There are 7 reviews posted here for December. One of them is for the wrong hotel in the wrong city. Over 3,500 guests have stayed with us in December. Of the 6 real reviews 2 are 5/5; 3 are 4/5 and 1 is 3/5. The 3/5 review paid a bargain 60 eur for 2 people b&b, stayed in an unrenovated Economy Room (of which we have 6) and made several statements that were untrue... We are a family run hotel, which has been here for 35 years, with our own brasserie restaurant serving local food at good prices. We are a little bit old fashioned in outlook as we think guests deserve good service in a fully staffed hotel at fair prices and as we have been doing this for so many years and have hundreds of returning guests, we must be doing something right ! In short we thank you for your honesty and hope that you become one of our regulars :)

Lovely comfortable and quiet hotel. Used a lot for business purposes. Thus never impinged in us however. The room was clean comfortable and tidy and the bed was huge! Reception service was excellent and courteous. All the staff were very efficient and approachable. Breakfast

Thanks 62cavinc for your lovely feedback. We always appreciate when guests 1) enjoy their stay with us and 2) give us constructive feedback :) We do have butter at breakfast and it is a round block rather than in those individual plastic portions - we try to think of the environment ... Sorry to hear about the milk. It's UHT and opened from cartons so maybe the taste wasn't what you expect from pasteurised milk in the UK ? We look forward to welcoming you back soon

The 3 answers have pretty much nailed it... 1) Bus 12 or 21 from the Airport to Luxembourg square, takes around 20-40 minutes. We are 100m from the bus stop (end of the line, so you can't go wrong !). To get the bus you have to go to -1 at the airport and follow signs for the bus station. You can buy a ticket from the machine at the bus halt or on the bus. Don't buy tickets from the scammers that are there. Ticket costs 4.50 eur from the machines and 6 eur on the bus. 2) Taxi from the rank outside arrivals. Cost around 40-65 eur. Personally I wouldn't use them. Driving is often appallingly bad and they have been known to try and 'sting' you. There is always Uber Pop but can be difficult to get a pick up at the airport. Normally around 40 eur and, in my experience an excellent service and quality. 3) Train to Central Station and then walk - 15 mins - or bus 38 to 'Science' stop at Square Meeus, next to the hotel. Bus 12/21 is more convenient and quicker, as well as being cheaper 4) Private transfer. Checkout Cabissimo website. Cost around 50 eur. Much more reliable than the taxis. Don't forget to download our Google/Apple App - just search for Leopold Hotel Brussels EU on the stores. There is lots of info re things to do in Brussels, plus the ability to message us before, during and after your stay :) Anything else just send us an email to reservations@hotel-leopold.be for the attention of Richard and I will get back to you :)

Are you within walking distance of the Xmas markets?
Hello Jo B Yes we are ... The nearest part of the Christmas Markets starts at the Grand Place and Place de la Monnaie (where the ice rink was last year). This is a 20 minute walk past the King's Palace and Gardens and several museums, as well as the Mannekin Pis. The markets extend to the far end of St Catherine's square which I would estimate is around a 15 minute walk from Grand Place. There is a metro stop at St Catherine's, which is accessible from the metro Trone , 200m from the hotel. Buses 95 and 38 run from opposite the hotel to near Grand Place. They go every 5 minutes and cost 2.50 eur. There are also day tickets available. Looking forward to welcoming you soon
