Never go there, unless you want to feel like you're living in communism. The place is depressing, the owner is extremely high-minded and is watching our every step. The rooms are small, so is the diner, so all guest have to have breakfast/dinner at a specified time.

Charming building fallen prey to avarice and psychopathy in management. Outstanding breakfast buffet served by a staff terrified of super bizarre owner lingering around and probably living in the building. We had to pay for our entire stay upon check in because as we were told guests have been leaving before their stays were complete. We feel we know why....

The room was clean, it had a fridge and plenty of bedding including decent pillows. Breakfast was good, plenty of breads, pastries, fresh fruit and some salad items, cooked breakfast was also available but did not try that. Upon request, the staff provided us with boiling water to make a hot tea as the urn was lukewarm. The owner provided...

It was with some trepidation that I arrived, owing to previous reviews. However, I was relieved to have had a much better experience. My twin room was clean, with a small ensuite shower and had a view of Lake Balaton down the road. The Hotel is quirky and quite colourful. It is within 4 minutes walk of the railway station...

We were very dissapointed. The food was horrible, without any taste. Nobody spoke any language except Hungarian. Dr.Pohl (the owner) was very annoying and pushy. At dinner he came around five times and was just looking at our plates. You have to drive there with a really old car (Trabant) otherwise Dr.Pohl will charge you more for your stay. The...

We came in late in the day, and late in the season, and spent a pleasant time here. The price was reasonable, and the room was clean and simple. The reasons to stay here are the location, the staff, and the beautiful courtyard. Staff...espresso @ 2100, no problem. Very friendly. Courtyard.....a step back to relaxed classical. Comfortable too. Location...walk up...

We've received a family apartment for 2 person/1 night for 73 EUR because they told us that there isn't any other free room in the main hotel. The apartment was in another building placed between the railway station and the main street. The room was on the groundfloor, without wifi, air conditioning and very noisy to sleep. The furniture was...

We were thinking of booking into this hotel to stay and looked at the menu on their internet page. Thankfully we stay elsewhere but thought we would try the restaurant and the photos of the place and the menu seem good. The photos were deceptive as the place was filthy with dead spiders hanging down from the lamp shades over...

We had been driving on a daily basis for some days and we were tired when we spotted this nice little hotel on the road side in Fonyad and decided to take a break. The hotel looked fine from outside and so we decided to take it up. The lady at the reception hardly spoke to us in any language...

The hotel has made a good impression upon arrival. It was clean, with nicely arranged public places in the corridors. Clean room, quiet location, nice staff. Also the city itself has made a nice impression - quiet (out of season), fresh... I felt deep serenity when we were walking nearby the lake... a feeling of a good rest after noisy...
