This is a superb place. It has the most stunning views and walks from the back garden , over the valley. But this particular guest house is infused with the gentle helpful spirit of its owners. The rooms are a good size and thoughtfully laid out. We brought a travel kette and by the second day there was a mat...

Our best stay in our 14 day road trip to northern Spain. Countryside, peaceful and calm with magnificent surroundings. Rolling hills, grazing cows, mules, horses. People tending to ordinary rural life and the bread man going about his deliveries with a smile and a nod. A tiny village with the calmness today's stressed out people need. Walking the streets in...

I have stayed in Etxezuria a few times and I will come back for sure. Etxezuria is a "Casa Rural", sort of a bed and breakfast, which offers accommodation in ensuite rooms with all the amenities as well as homemade breakfasts and dinners. The house is extremely nice, it is a restored big house with amazing wooden floors. The house...

The place was lovely. The family running the house were warm genuine people who really made a huge effort to make our stay perfect. They were so thoughtful. The location is beautiful, the room was very charming, nicely decorated and the home cooking was too good.

Not everyone walking the Camino takes the low road via Valcarlos. It offers unexpected pleasures, such as staying here at Zigako Etxezuria (you will never find it if you reverse the 'x' and the 't' - it's a Basque thing). A very pleasant and spacious room with ensuite and kitchenette, away from the family along a curious set of steps...

We had a wonderful stay at this traditional Baztan Valley Guesthouse. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The hosts were friendly, attentive and full of information and ideas about exploring the area. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and range of evening meals available and the breakfasts were extensive, fresh and filling. We would not hesitate to...

We just loved our 3 night stay here. Big room with views, great shower, good breakfast and good value evening meals. Quiet garden, terrace and lounge to relax in. Hosts were always happy and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. In a typical, unspoilt Basque village.

A family-run guest house. They did not give us any kind of key (neither room, nor the building), so we were not able to go in and out when we wanted -- and the family went to bed at 9, meaning you are locked inside at that time. Probabily it's good if you are a pilgrim and follow that timetable,...
