I picked Brienz for my first three nights in Switzerland so that I could take the Rothorn Bahn, visit the Old Town of Brienz and visit the Ballenberg Open Air Museum. I arrived in Zurich at 13:25 and caught the 14:47 train to Brienz. Beautiful ride, with only one transfer, then I was in Brienz by 17:33. Trudged up the...

Not only is this a charming little Swiss chalet but it has a friendly, helpful and charming owner, Jacqueline Scola. Our visit was perfect - well, except for the weather. We would love to come back one day and stay longer. Thank you Jacqueline.

My husband and I first visited this precious "stöckli " (in Switzerland this is a mini-chalet,built for the grandparents when they retire from active farming) in the late 60s. We were enchanted then, and a little afraid that it might not live up to our marvelous memories, especially since the owners had changed, but we were happily surprised that it...

I have just come back after a two-night stay at this beautiful old chalet (originally constructed in 1602) with my husband. I had booked on the phone and from then on Jacqueline was friendly and helpful. This continued during our stay. We stayed in the blue-themed room which is the middle floor of the chalet. The room is extremely well...

My wife and I stayed here for three nights on our motorbike tour and can't wait to return. The location is beautiful, the room was very large and comfortable and Jacqueline, the owner, is very friendly and insists on you making sandwiches for lunch at breakfast time - a nice touch as Switzerland is expensive.

It's great to choose to stay in Brienz instead of busy Interlaken., It's small and quite. But could take the bus to open air museum--Ballenberg(must visit). And boat to the beautiful historical Grand Hotel. I stay 3 nights at this B & B. I choose STUDIO room type. It includes a small kitchen and a yard. Very convenient and safe...

LOCATION: The B&B Spycher Brienz is located at Talstrasse 8, in a quiet residential area. Brienz-Rothorn Bahn, the train station and boat pier (whence cruises on Brienzersee depart) are all about 10 minutes away on foot. The Tourist Information Bureau is conveniently situated beside Brienz-Rothorn Bahn and just opposite the train station. The village centre, where most of the restaurants...

This old family chalet is very charming, very clean, and the beds very comfortable. What is more the family who runs the house is very welcoming and prepared us a good breakfast! The location is ideal, 30 seconds away from the main street, in a quiet area, only the old traditional train passes close (but not very frequent and really...
