First I’ll list the “downside” for staying here. First, NO. A/C or fan (didn’t need it) temperature was perfect! (Beginning of June - rainy season). Second, not much lighting during the night (dim lights), but has a window in the middle of the room that gives amazing sunlight during the day. Third, slow WiFi inside rooms (stayed in room #12; second floor). Fourth, place is a little outdated (old furniture and quite humid which may smell a little at times, but nothing you can’t handle), doors are a bit loud and close with an old fashion key, and walls are not much soundproof (again, wasn’t a big deal we’re not light sleepers). Fifth and final, there aren’t any amenities you are used to in any hotel/motel in the US (microwave, coffee maker, tiny soaps and shampoo bottles, mini fridge, etc.) Anytime my bf and I needed to keep something cold we talked to the hotel staff and they let us keep a few things in their kitchen's fridge. Don’t come here expecting luxury, it’s a very tropical, rustic, home-like place with amazing mountain/city view, big/deep pool, cute little “restaurant” which only makes breakfast and dinner (limited menu). We stayed here for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. We went to 2 excursions and rested at the hotel the day before leaving (much needed). We didn’t rent a car and the hotel is not a “walk to anywhere” location. Uber is available and cheap (compared to Florida, USA). Uber eats is also available, it’s cheap, fast, and the 5 times I used it from different eating locations, food was amazing! Hotel offers transportation from/to airport for $30 each way, Carlos (our driver) was very kind and fun to talk to. Everyone in the hotel was very kind and helped us with anything that we needed. In my opinion? 4 stars (plus, price was unbelievable). Ps. Never encountered any roaches or ants in my room like other reviews warned us about.

After a longhaul flight from Europe we stayed at this hotel. Rooms and public area nice and comfy. Simple layout but clean, helpful staff and good food. Lively breakfast with outside sitting area nexf to pool. The hotel is surrounded by a big garden with all kinds of fruit. Great for children to run around. The area around the hotel is suburban with little shops. The closest restaurant was closed at time of oud stay.

Stayed at the hotel on either side of travel in Costa Rica. It was comfortable, affordable and convenient to the airport. The rooms are clean, large and well ventilated. Air-conditioning was not necessary. Look forward to seeing it in the light and truly having time at the hotel.

I booked my reservation here mainly because it was pet friendly and near the San Jose airport. The hotel website states that there is a restaurant on site and even displays photos of people eating and sitting at a bar. Upon my check in , I was told the restaurant was not open now, the bar was closed.. there was no welcome drink as stated , and since my booking included a 10 percent discount for my dinner at the restaurant, this would not happen either. I was also told that breakfast was not included now either. There was no A C in the rooms and also no ceiling fans.. only a small window.. and believe me it was so hot there with no breeze , I decided to cancel my stay. I had hoped to find a place with an on site restaurant and a bar so that I didn’t have to get back in my car and drive around a town that I am not familiar with. So prior to booking or staying here, I would call to verify that there will be a bar, restaurant, and breakfast. Other than that, the staff was friendly, the place is clean with really nice views and walking paths.. it’s just very hot.

I've stayed here a few times over the years when in the city and always enjoy my stay! I have to say that Kenny at the front desk is amazing! Very friendly, outgoing and is a delight to talk to! The lady that worked the front desk the previous time I stayed was exactly the same! The pool and view is fantastic, the room basic but comfortable and especially for the price. It's up the hill and out of the hustle and bustle but not so far that it's hard to get anywhere.

Room Tip: I'd recommend the top floor to avoid the noise of people walking above you and for the view!
