Pension Sea Friend is a small business, situated 2 minutes walk from Aharen Beach, one of the most beautiful seashore my eyes have ever seen. The staff is extremely nice and helpful (thanks Rina!), the room was clean, had all the stuff one needs (towels, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer etc) and the air con worked perfectly (essential in Tokashiki). The...

Really beautiful location. The Hotel is right on the beach and, even if a little bit dated, offers really good value for money accommodation. The room was big and with A/C with ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was ok and we had our lunch and dinners at the hotel restaurant too. They offer beach equipment and can organize excursions but we just...

Quite a simple place for accommodation, sufficiently providing all that is needed for a simple diving holiday. We stayed in the pension, which has en suite bathroom with a bathtub. The room is pretty basic and although the management does provide Wi-Fi service, signal is non-existent in the room. Cleanliness and customer service is impeccably Japanese: nice, simple, and effective....

That was the hotel I chose to celebrate my 1 year anniversary with my husband, and I thought would be good, since the prices are not really cheap. First the pros: Very close to the Aharen beach, that is great, awesome, for snorkel (we even saw a turtle!). Rooms have a good size. As a guest you get 50% discount...

The Pension Sea Friend has three accomodation types, the Pension which has rooms with en suite bathroom, the log house which has a shared bathroom and the Minshuku which has tatami flooring (you sleep on futons) and shared bathrooms. I went with the log house and stayed in a twin room on my own. The toilet was across the corridor,...

The pension is right in the middle of the village and 2 minutes to the beach. The rooms are nice sized, quiet, warm on cold nights and very clean. The wifi works well in the common areas Ibut not in all of the rooms) and is included in the price. The staff is EXTREMELY nice, always friendly and help whenever...

Sea Friend had a great staff and perfect location. The stay and service was well worth the price. I did not tell them I spoke Japanese the whole time because I was on a vacation from my Honshu countryside life, so they seemed quite intimidated at first when I asked questions in English, but they were excellent people and very...

we traveled here in Nov 2013, which was probably the slow tourist season. we did not plan our trip in advance, so we just moved around as we wanted, and tried to find accommodations on the go. we got lucky often, and Sea Friend was good start to our trip. we started off staying in the lodge, or log house,...

Great beach, great weather, great food and a reasonable price. We didn't take advantage of all the diving equipment, but rented snorkeling equipment which allowed glimpses of the beautiful coral reefs and amazing fish - just meters away from the hotel. The hotel itself is clean and modern with all the amenities you could need. I recommend taking advantage of...

“The wooden lodge is big (with good wifi) but not as quiet or private as the rooms in the main concrete building.”

“The log building is apparently a "little louder" hahahaha... The joke is, it is so quiet there anyway, it doesn't really matter. Be adventurous and don't come and complain about lack of luxury of the rooms, embrace the island life and the difference between there and mainland Japan, if you are going to Tokashiki, don't go to sit in your room all day.”
