Spent a day/night here with my son and his wife during my visit to Japan. Baths, both public and private, were good. Room was excellent as was the evening meal. I recommend this hotel for a relaxing experience of the Japanese style.

Very nice hotel, great food, huge room, highly recommend!

You must stay at this onsen! There is no need to keep looking for a great place. I have stayed at this hotel twice now, because my first experience was so brilliant. On my first visit, I booked with a Japanese website. There were no tatami mat rooms available online, however when I arrived, staff were happy to change my...

We had an enormous tatami room (Room 106, I think) with river views, though it was a little bit on the cool side at times. It had a huge living space (doubling as a second bedroom at night), a bedroom with 2 large singles (small doubles?) that we pushed together and even an extra seating area in the bedroom. It...

Hotel has a lot of onsens (tattoo friendly) but is laid out strangely. You have to take 3 different elevators to get to an Onsen. The onsens are nice and basically opened 24 hours with the exception of cleaning times. You must eat before you get there unless you have the dinner plans, there is only a good pizza shop...

The rooms are large and clean. The hot springs are great. The staffs are very polite and helpful. But there are not a lot of dining / sight seeing options nearby the hotel. No wifi available in rooms.

Minakamikan is located on the Tone river about 10 mins walk from Minakami station. You can organize free pick from at the station with the hotel staff if you call ahead and let them know your arrival time. The hotel itself has a roomy but cozy carpeted foyer with large windows offering a view of the turquoise river below. The...

On the outside, the hotel doesn´t look really nice but once you get inside you start to feel like never leaving the hotel again :) The staff were really nice and attentive (some of them could speak a bit of english, but basic level). The rooms are awesome, we fell in love with the place: spacious, confortable, with an amazing...

We were treated like royalty in this lovely old hotel with hot baths. Meals were amazing and our view of the snow-covered mountains was glorious. We enjoyed the peals of laughter by happy rafters going by; and found the baths to be clean and soothing. Be certain to take the walks along the river. More lunch options outside of the...
