My partner and I had the most amazing stay at Hakuba Ski-kan. The owners and their family treat you like you are one of their own. We arrived by trained and they came and picked us up from the station, they provided us discounted ski passes and a discount to the ski hire place literally 5m from their door step....

We stayed at Hakuba Ski-kan for 3 nights and loved it. We loved our room with traditional Japanese table heater and were amazed at how the paper walls kept the warmth in! To open the doors and windows and reach out to touch the snow was pretty amazing! The owners at Ski-kan are so wonderful and make sure you are...

This is a very Japanese still B&B. We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are small with just mats on the floor, but it was perfect. Having the onsen right at the hotel was very nice after a long cold day on the slopes. Would highly recommend.

Hakuba ski-kan is not a western hotel / B&B, it is a piece of traditional Japanese life in Hakuba... Your host, Takako (faithfully assisted by her husband, Takashi) will make you feel at home quickly. You will remove your shoes at the door, put on slippers, get a Kimono or Ukata robe to wear, enjoy green tea and a leg...

Was a little skeptical after seeing the photos posted the website & the idea of sharing bathroom/toilet just not me but the reviews was so good that I have to see it to be convinced so I went ahead with the booking & I'm glad I did! You just have to experience it yourself :-) Direction Hakuba Bus Terminal: 40mins...

Ok, if you are after faceless, same worldwide experience, don't stay here. Stay here, if you want to experience how it's like to stay with a Japanese family who goes out of their way to make sure you have a good time with them in Hakube. It's from offering special rates to ski rental and lift pass to welcome you...

Best host ever! They take care of us like a family member. I visited hakuba on 4 Dec 2016. Host welcome us with a homemade cake :) Then bring us to a sushi restaurant a little bit far from hotel. In second day. Because there is no snow at all, they afraid that we will have nothing to do. Mr.Kuni...

Mrs Takato and her husband are wonderful hosts. Rooms are spacious and confortable. If Mrs Takato offers to cook you dinner or breakfast, say yes to both: she is an excellent cook (she grows her own vegetables) and will explain you everything about Japanese cuisine & customs. The ryokan is Mrs Takato's family house, souvenirs pictures, kimonos, calligraphy tools are...

Takako san and her husband's hospitality and culinary skills are truly amazing. My friend and I had such a wonderful time staying in this lovely traditional Japanese house despite no snow during our time of visit (October 2015). The room is so comfy and decors around the house are all very interesting. There was even natural onsen there!!! I look...

I have never left a review on TripAdvisor before but after my stay at this inn, I felt compelled to share my experience. The personalised service is just as good as the previous reviews say - the owner went out of her way to drive us wherever we needed to go. This was a great help because shuttle buses had...
