The hotel is little bit old school, but still useful. The front desk staff was helpful. We booked Japanese room with breakfast and dinner. Our dinner was delicious. The bad things was this hotel only have free wifi at the lobby and another bad things for me was the outdoor mix onsen at my stay, they only accept enter of female only. Anyway the price was very acceptable!
The onsen here is great. The staff keep it in very good condition. There is a mixed outdoor bath which is beautiful to enjoy with a partner. There are times when it is women's only too. One big negative about this hotel is the in incessant background piano music. The music is everywhere and I could hear it in my room. It really drove me crazy. I would have stayed another night because the price was good, but I couldn't stand it anymore. I hope management, who are friendly and helpful, reads this and considers cutting the music.
Excellent outdoor onsen in mid winter (mid December) under Starry sky, breathing cold air and seeing snow flake falling down. This is extremely awsome. The room space is average but OK for a family of 3. Food is great everywhere in Hokkaido, so is this hotel.
stayed for 1n when passing through. the establishment is slightly lynch-esque with long corridors with not too many people, aura of long gone prestige, cigarette smell and dirty carpets in the rooms. gender-segregated outdoor hot springs are nice but somewhat basic, with leafy forest view. there's another outdoor pool by the river. the cleaning of that pool hadn't been exactly thorough and thus it wasn't the most inviting. the village is very small, not much to see in walking distance. food at the restaurant was formally qualified as kaiseki dinner, but quality was average. lobby smelled like cigarettes, as it was smoking allowed. room smelled too, but not as much as the lobby. having said all this, it was quite an interesting experience to stay in a place like this. front desk staff spoke no english, which was perhaps the reason what at the outset looked like a blatant lie: "cash only". luckily they could also produce a card machine.…
My friend and I spent a night here during a cycling trip through Hokkaido. I think this was by far the best accommodation during our trip, with a very nice and spacious Japanese room, great onsens (including a mixed one), incredible food (yes, the food in Hokkaido is usually amazing, but this one was beyond that!), and best quality/price ratio ever. Very good location too, and in the area there are loads of activities for nature lovers including some very nice walking/hiking paths through the forest. I'm looking forward to go there again!
