I stayed here 5 nights because it was nearby the El Palmar Beach where I took surfing lessons. You still need to take taxi to get to the beach for 4 USD one-way. This place truly is a Ranch with lots of open space. You should like animals because there is a dog on the property and several cats. I...

This Inn was clean, comfortable, but somewhat remote - 10 minutes (around 4 miles) from the beach in the mountains without any visible neighbors. A car is necessary. Our family of four, and another family from the US were the only guests. The Californian owner, Joe, is very sociable, committed to the Inn, and generous. He cooks an optional but...

I just returned from Rancho Los Toros, my husband and two friends know the owner, Joe, from years ago. He has created a little piece of paradise in Panama. We kayaked in the ocean, visited the zoo in El Valle, fished in Lake Gunta (spelling?), caught 57 fish and cooked them up at the ranch. The weather, company, food and...

My girlfriend and I had a planned part of our trip fall through at the last minute and only had a couple of days to change our plans. I have lived in Panama for nearly three years but had never really heard of San Carlos as a destination. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the beach community is very...

I am a solo traveler and have the following to say about this gem of a hotel/hostel. -cleanest and most comfortable hostel beds I have ever stayed in. Also unique, the hostel portion of the hotel had private rooms with shared bathrooms. Perfect for couples on...

Nice little hotel/hostle in the hills of San Carlos. Peaceful place with a great staff, clean rooms and a very refreshing pool. Wonderful food especially the grill night, slow cooked to perfection and a good glass of wine with Joe, Ross and all the other guests. We enjoyed ourselves so much we stopped for another night (ended up being 2)...

Spent a 3 day weekend "in the country", I real change of pace from the city. A beautiful property with wonderful views of El Valle. Plenty of hiking right on the property. River access was a pleasant surprise. The rooms by the pool were great. Good Chef, ate most of our meals there. Great wine cellar with plenty to chose...

Looking for a place by the coast to stop over on our way to Panama City, we decided on San Carlos and this hotel, and it turned out being one of the best stops of our whole trip! The hotel itself is very nice, but what really made the difference was the owner, Joe. He was extremely hospitable and went...

FOund on web by coincidence. A few km off the Panamericana behind San Carlos, near Coronado. SUper friendly staff, and owner Joe. Sweet pool, nice casitas. VEry well maintained, but not sterile. Great value for money. We stayed Saturday night, when Joe & team have a BBQ night. He loves his wine, and shares from what he enjoys. Our 3yr...
