This is a wonderful, family run gasthof. Last time I was there, when we walked up to the door it had a "ruhetag" (restday) sign on the door, but before we even got back to the parking lot, the owner came running out, explaining that while the kitchen was closed, but she would be happy to rent us a room...

We first came to this place by chance almost 4 years ago. Since then every year we go for a vacation in that area, that's the place we eat dinner and new years eve dinner as well. I highly recommand Jager Pfanne dish and the Apfel Strudel as well. We made friends with the hungarian waiter, he is very helpful...

We spent one night here on our way further down the alps. Nice cleen rooms and at a reasonable price, breakfast was good. I would recommend it and would come back if we are going down that road again. Unfortunately we arrived 5 minutes after the kitchen closed, but landlady pointed us to a nice restaurant 75m away.

We (6 friends) stayed in Mittersill in August prior to commencing a 4 day hiking trip in the Hohe Tauern region of Austria. Mittersill is the perfect town for this and Gasthof Hirschenwirt is the perfect place to spend a night or two when you are in the area. I was sorry that we only got to stay there for...

Stay here only if funds are short or if you are on benefits. Our room was fantastically clean but appeared to have emerged (largely unscathed) from continuous use since the 1970s. In particular, the dark brown bathroom was a miserable place to be.

Family run cosy and intimate hotel. Perfect place to spend 4 days during Christmas. Whilst snow and ice outside added to the atmosphere, it was wonderful to return to our hotel to perfect warmth. Our hosts Marina and Martin were just wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Suggestions of sightseeing (including an unforgettable sleigh ride in virgin snow) were...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and, thanks to the excellent, warm, friendly hospitality from our hosts (Marina and Martin) they made our stay a very memorable one and it was just perfect for our first white Christmas. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to stay in the Austrian Alps. Marina organised a sleigh ride...

We stayed only night at this Hotel. It is a cozy place located near the town centre. We took two rooms and although one of them was a little small, it was a corner room with great views of the mountains and the Schloss. They have a very nice complimentary Sauna and infra-red room. The building itself is quite nice...

“Ask for a room with a balcony facing the main street. It's not noisy at night and it's nice to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. Not all rooms have a balcony.”
