Visited this place and met one of the owners Spencer and I found him very helpful. I had a look round and the place and it felt very homely and welcoming. Marple centre is a 5 minute walk away the train station to Manchester or Sheffield is about 300 yards away also there’s a canal not far for lovely walks. Also just around the corner is a fantastic Indian restaurant the best for miles around. See the pictures attached what you see is what you get set in a very quiet area with lovely grounds. It’s very reasonably priced and they do a full traditional English breakfast to set you up for the day. This is a little gem and if you decide to try it out you won’t be disappointed.

This guest house is full of character and original features. Lorraine is both friendly and helpful regarding the local area. Our garden room was ideal for us and for our dog as it had a separate entrance from the spacious and mature gardens. Great views from the dining room and a special mention for the beautifully cooked breakfast. Thank you so much from Dave, Sue and Monica Whippet

When you arrive at Oakfield Lodge, it is like going back to victorian times, with the decore. But this guest house is spotlessly clean, the room we had was massive and warm and Lorraine was very welcoming, accomodating and very helpful. The lodge is a 6/7 minute walk to Marple town centre. We will definately stay here again.

Having booked a room in March for the 18th May and asking for confirmation on the 5th May,we turned up to pick the key up to find out they had let it to someone else, they could only offer us an upstairs room and as I am disabled I couldn't manage so two 64 year olds one being disabled were left with nowhere to stay. Words cannot describe how angry and disgusted I am avoid if you want somewhere reliable

Booked the Garden room on the 13th of March which it would have to be because of my wife`s disability and being unable to climb the stairs. Arrived on the 18th May to be told it was unavailable but had a room up the stairs. No hand rail on the right for going up but "stairs". To be annoyed and upset meant no where to stay. Grrrrrrr. The man who had it should have been moved up the stairs. Will not be back if that is the way the place is run.
