We knew the Prince had received poor previous write-ups so we were not expecting too much. We found the staff absolutely delightful, very warm and polite. We spent four nights at South Wind then five at West Wing.

Just returned from there. It is best for ski stay. My friend said it is an upgraded hostel but low-end hotel.
Overall room size is acceptable and just-fit for purpose.

I was there two weeks ago. There is no other dining option around the Prince, and I thought the meals were bad and expensive - so I understand why you ask. As you suspect you need to go to Ichinose. You need to order a taxi or go with a local bus (15 minutes). Most of the restaurants are in other hotels. Did not try anyone myself though so I can't recommend anyone. Good luck.

"make sure you specify non-smoking- we got moved the second night to another room and it smelled like smoke!"
