I really can't praise this lovely ryokan or its dedicated staff, highly enough. This was our first experience of staying in a ryokan and from the moment we arrived we knew we were in a very special place. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our spacious accommodation which included a private onsen. Our charming host prepared green tea in...

We had an excellent and memorable stay at this superb Ryokan. It was our first experience in a Ryokan and we were not really sure what to expect. However the quality of the little villa we got and the hospitality of the staff was far in excess of our expectations! We even had a little onsen in our room! The...

I honestly don't think I could rave enough about this place! This was my first night in Japan after dreaming about visiting both the country and the snow monkeys for years and it was a totally perfect introduction. The ryokan is immaculate, both the communal and private onsen are totally stunning (the gentle dusting of snow we received added even...

I was here with my girlfriend and this place is really worth a stay if you don't mind splurging for your trip. And one night is not enough! Like many have said, the icing on the cake is the breakfast and dinner. We are definitely coming back.

A family run boutique style lodge with traditional Japanese rooms and in room baths. Interesting for a night or two but westerners need to be aware of what is on offer. Very friendly + helpful staff. Very convenient location for the Snow Monkeys in winter. Evening dining in house was exceptional (if you like Japanese food). Japanese food for breakfast...

This ryokan is the total highlight of my entire japan trip. 5 out of 5 is not nearly a high enough score as this little gem deserves. The service is outstanding, and the food!! Well that is just out of this world. Take a few days to just stop and relax and soak in the onsen and enjoy the finer...

Our stay in this ryokan was one of the highlights of our recent Japan trip. Amazing service, the food was outstanding, and the onsen was very relaxing. This ryokan served as our base for visiting the snow monkeys in the Jigokudani Snow Monkey park, and it was very convenient and easy to access by foot. Highly recommended and we would...

We had an amazing two night stay at Jinpyokaku. Our room had 4 divided rooms in traditional japanese style with a private onsen. Excellent bath and cosmetic products. Public bath is amazing with a mixed sex outdoor area and womens only outdoor area. There are only 6 rooms which means you often will have the baths to yourself. The staff...

Perfect place to stay when visiting the Jigkudani Monkey reserve in Yudanaka Onsen as it is right next to the main car park The Ryokan in itself is well worth a visit beautiful Japanese style rooms, with private onsen on the balcony. Fantastic modern bathrooms. The most beautiful outdoor communal baths, set in the rocks - it was snowing when...
