We are a group of friends who run a retreat centre in Ireland, close to Upper L. Erne. We are situated across from Inish Rath Island, a 22-acre wooded lake isle. The island is home to the main Krishna (ISKCON) temple in the country. [This is a Vedic temple, or a mandir associated with the world-faith known as Hinduism, also referred to as Bhakti Yoga] Spiritual, meditation, yoga and vegetarian cookery retreats are offered, with aromatherapy massage and other therapies available. We've been hosting retreats from 2006. We visit Inish Rath by ferry boat or rowing boat (5 minute crossing) We love to host our guests and provide for them an enlivening holistic time.

have been meaning to write this review for a while,i have been to lake isle retreat 8 times & i will go again some day, this is a brilliant retreat centre & i give it 5 stars.

The value for money is excellent, The staff are very good people and very helpful, the food is excellent really enjoyable meals & very healthy, everyone loves the homemade granola for breakfast & most people have a 2nd bowl. The meditations & yoga classes are very good & enjoyable, I love the walks in the parks/forests on the saturday. The visit to the temple on the sunday is also a good experience. I Have met a lot of great people on these retreats and some of them i have kept in contact with.

Tim does a very good job at organising these retreats, the whole weekend is full of enjoyable classes, meals, meditations & therapies(there are several different therapies to choose from), the therapies are very good value for money, i always have a full body massage with yen(one of the therapists)and she is brilliant at giving the full body massages, i highly recomend anyone going on this retreat to book in for the full body massage with Yen as it is money well spent.

We decided on a retreat for a weekend in order to reset ourselves due to the world we’re currently living in. Everything was amazing from the moment we arrived. The house is lovely and warm with all the amenities you could possibly need. The rooms are well spaced and shared spaces were extremely well presented.

We had a few highlights over the weekend; the food!! Wow wow wow! The therapies and yoga that we engaged in. The early morning trip to the temple is a most! What a truly wonderful experience and we were blessed with snow while there. The deer were also a lovely surprise around the island.

I couldn’t recommend a weekend here enough, the people who we met, from the guests, devotees, therapists, hosts and of course Tim were truly such amazing individuals! It was exactly what we needed!

I went on an Ayurveda and yoga retreat to Lake Isle Retreats Friday to Sunday in April. Tim, who runs the retreats, is such a gentle soul and creates a warm, comfortable and welcoming stay. The Ayurveda tutor, Niamh, and the yoga teacher, Chrissie, were both so knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight of any stay for me is the wonderful food, all vegetarian, beautifully cooked. The atmosphere of camaraderie between the 9 retreat attendees was palpable. Lovely comfortable, warm and clean rooms with nothing but bird song to break the silence. Amazingly such a wonderful place is presented at a price within everyone's budget. I prefer genuine warm-heartedness and care to flash and bling. Some other retreats spend a fortune on advertising then the client pays through the nose for this. The group enjoyed a fantastic sound bath by Sukhada and there were many other treatments/therapies available. Also there was the option of taking the ferry the short journey across the lough on Sunday to Inish Rath island with its lovely grounds and temple. Lake Isle Retreats is a wee gem in a beautiful, peaceful and totally secluded part of south Fermanagh. I'd highly recommend it.

I liked the meditation and yoga sessions but most of all, I loved the food. The meals were amazing - all vegetarian and the standard was very high. The meditation sessions were very well run by Tim and quite relaxing. The space in which the meditation sessions were held was quite small so we expanded into the next room to make sure everyone fit. The facilities were fine - nothing extravagant and the shared shower, although it looked quite old, was actually quite nice. The dining room was a bit small for the amount of people on the retreat also. The shambala room for the yoga was lovely with all the windows and the light. The visit to the island on the Sunday was alright. The temple and seeing the ritual was interesting but the visit to the island just felt like it was more killing time than experiencing anything new. I feel the time would have been more wisely spent doing another yoga session or meditation but others may have found it enjoyable - it was just my personal experience.

I had been longing for a retreat for quite a while. My idea of a holiday is a relaxing experience, with a dynamic element given my nature. As I drove towards Fermanagh I was greeted by swans upon the numerous lakes gilding a panoramic sunset.
As a solo traveller all apprehensions dissolved as I was greeted by the fellow participants and Tim with great courtesy and openness.
The room I stayed in was comfortable and warm, cosy is a better description as I spent my evenings having early nights reading there.
My favourite element of the weekend was everyone I had the privilege to have met, ( Dub, Galway, Antrim Down, Tyrone ect) a very close second is the food which was so delicious, nutritious, plentiful and excellently presented and always shared in great company.
I had never done yoga or meditation before but felt drawn towards doing that sort of thing at this time of my life. All the sessions were fantastic, novel(to me) and serene.
Not to take away anything from the other activities, my favourite was a guided meditation with Tim playing his music and singing.
I have given this a five star as it deserves it. There is a warmth of experience that I and I believe all of us who were there will carry with us through 2024.
Mark.

Set on the banks of Lough Erne, Fermanagh, Lake Isle Retreats provided a wonderful location for a 'getaway from it all' trip.

The weekend was luxuriously relaxing, the food was delicious, canoeing was fun and I met some lovely people.

Having never done yoga or meditation before, I was hesitant to book but now can't wait to return.

Thankyou Tim for being a great host.

Really enjoyed silent retreat with Tim, and met some lovely people. The vegetarian food was great, the meditations and yoga sessions very calming and restorative, the wonderful setting by the lake, with wild deer grazing outside the house, all added to the magic of the weekend. It was lovely to have peace, no TV, no distractions..... would definitely go back. Tim also made us all very welcome.

I truly enjoyed my weekend taking part in a Lake Isle Retreat! This is a gem of a retreat with amazing value for money for nature lovers, the spiritually curious, and those who simply need to unplug. The accommodations are beautiful, comfortable, clean, simple and close to nature. The food is absolutely delicious and handmade. I took part in a weekend focussed on yoga with Olive MacDonagh. She was an amazing teacher! The weekend attracted lovely, kind, like-minded people who were a pleasure to get to know in the small group setting. Tim and Yen are lovely hosts who seek to make there guests feel very welcome! The massage treatments are amazing!

Absolutely fab weekend spent with Tim for a spiritual warrior retreat. The accommodation was great - far exceeded my expectations with a super comfy bed in a lovely room, was always toasty warm and the place had all mod cons.
All food provided was divine - When we arrived we were served a delicious vegan curry with rice, poppadoms and beautiful salad direct from the veg patch outside. So filling and yummy. Throughout the weekend we were also served delish vegan lasagne, cottage pie, salads, etc. Didn't miss meat once!!
Tim was a fabulous host, leading us in meditation, teaching us about japa and the way of monk life which was so interesting. He introduced us to friends and locals, took us on an adventurous woodland walk, showed us his veg patch & garden where we assisted in harvesting pumpkins, broadband and kale. He brought us to the Island 10 mins away via rowboat on Saturday morning, then back again on Sunday for a fabulous festival with over 200 people where we learnt even more and were welcomed with open arms. We even witnessed the literal end of a rainbow on the island!!! There were fallow dear roaming about I'm abundance and all of the people I met in my group were fab. Really would recommend to anyone. I can't wait to return for another spiritual retreat, as well as a separate cookery course.
