It was our first visit and absolutely fell in love with Cabot Shore. We stayed in the in the Mongolian yurt which was a really neat experience. We recommend this place to everyone, all ages/abilities.

We're happy you enjoyed the Mongolian Yurt experience and reviewed it for others. Mongolian Yurts are indeed magical, providing both a comfortable as well as an esthetically pleasing environment. They are very private and offer great views; their interiors are hand-painted in traditional Mongolian motifs by families in Mongolia. Ours are located near the lodge and are heated in winter....

Our stay was awesome. We got one of the yurts for the night and upgraded to an outdoor hot tub as well. Really cool experience. Definitely got the slice of serenity and peace they we were looking for. The food was tasty but a bit expensive. Next time I would eat elsewhere. Highly recommended. Would definitely go back.

Glad you enjoyed the serenity of the Yurt and (chemical-free) Cedar soaker. Thanks for the feedback on our meals. Many of our guests like to linger over a 3-course meal with local wine or organic beer on tap, enjoying the view from the deck or connecting with other guests over dinner. Others, like you, prefer a simpler dining experience. In...

Me and a friend of mine wanted to experience the Cabot Trail on our motorcycles before the season ended, and decided last minute to do it on labour day weekend. We frantically googled, emailed, and phoned a good 2 dozen places to see if they had any openings, and thankfully Cabot Shores did! Although I had never experienced sleeping in...

I enjoyed my stay at Cabot Shores. The food and service was lovely. They provided delicious gluten and diary free options. Local ingredients and herbs are used for the meals. Meeting and dining in the main lodge was enjoyable. Natural sunlight filled the lodge through lots of windows. I appreciated the view, natural surroundings and walking trails. It is a...

Thank you for your kind words and lovely description of our lodge and the land - happy you were able to unwind. We welcome vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian guests (as well as omnivores) - we know it can be difficult to get special-diet meals while on the road in remote areas.

Thank you for your kind review. Wow, you packed a lot into your two-day stay with us! And seemed to managed to unwind as well. We love surprising our guests with unexpected activities to explore and new things to try - like beach campfires, morning meditation, apple picking (or garden picking or mushrooming, depending on the season), or discovering wildlife...

My husband and I stayed at Cabot Shores in September 2014 and are already looking forward to a return trip. We stayed in the Blue Yurt with an amazing view over the water. We were fortunate to be there during a super moon and the night sky was amazing. The shared bathhouse is a one minute walk on a well...

Thank you for writing a review about your yurt experience and more. Soaking under a super moon with the ocean lit up by moonlight does sound magical. We're glad you enjoyed your dining experience and the unexpected performance by well-known Cape Breton fiddler Dwayne Cote.
