I dined here as part of a large group celebrating a birthday. The dining room was nicely lit, the table well dressed. It was a shame that we were on one long table, which made it difficult to converse with others outside of the people next to each other. Our order was taken efficiently, in an organised fashion. Our food...

The meal was good and well presented but our afternoon spoiled by the unpleasantness of two staff members. We have been to pubs and restaurants around the world and have never come across this sort of behaviour before. We felt unwelcome and will not return. A pity about this unfortunate incident as the pub does show potential.

Hi Mike, please accept my apologies that you were not properly treated when you recently visited us. We aim to deliver very high standards in everything we do and friendly customer service is our no. 1 priority so we have clearly got something very wrong. I would like to find out more so that I can take measures internally and...

Visited with my family for a meal on a Friday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday and had a very warm welcome. Our meal was excellent and each of us chose something different from the menu which had a good varied choice. We could tell our food was freshly cooked and was very well presented. The staff were very friendly...

Jerome, Stacey and Nate away for a few days of well earned. R&R! Trouble is, try as we might, we could not find anywhere else that was worth visiting let alone eating and drinking at - The Horse & Grrom is a gem that we really must nurture and support.

Our group of friends met up for a meal at the pub and once again had a very good meal and a lovely evening with the added benefit of 20% off the bill due to the innovative idea of the owners to give out sealed coupons to customers over winter. I had the prawns followed by the rib-eye steak and...

Usually this is fine for food but the duck my friend and I had was absolutely disgusting. So tough it was hard to cut with the knives supplied. When asked if the meal was ok we did say how awful the duck was. The lad delivering the food said he'd tell the chef. Whether he did or not nothing was...

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with us - unfortunately this problem was not reported to me or the duty manager on the evening as we would have resolved things there and then. We normally log any issues but we have no record of this problem. Anyway, if you would like to contact me by telephone...

I love coming here for lunch! Wonderful warm atmosphere and Jim's food is always incredible. I've tried the Roast and the grilled Goats Cheese Crouton which were both lovely. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy, friendly meal! Natali

We walked to this pub with our families and luckily had pre booked. We had an amazing table for 8 and we're welcomed and shown to our table. The staff were fantastic, very accommodating. The kids lunches were all fab, sausage and mash and fish and chips were perfect for them and it was clear that the quality of food...

We recently stayed here for 2 nights to visit a relative. Firstly, we received a warm welcome in what proved to be a very popular, busy traditional inn. The room was spotlessly clean & we ate on both evenings in the cosy, dog friendly bar. Breakfast was served in the smart dining room. Food was excellent with a good choice...
