The room was all heated up when we got in from the April snow so no cold to worry about. Although the hotel wasn't very full, I could tell we had neighbours right next door as the walls were thin and noise came through. The onsen was not very big with only a few baths, but the water was very...

We stayed in several ryokans during our trip, and this one felt the most traditional to me. It didn't seem to be very popular with us American tourists, but there were plenty of older Japanese people there. The onsen was really very nice, with several bathing options. The food was good to. The staff didn't speak much English, but it...
