Bungalows and a small central building on a beautiful curving beach, in front of the small islands N of the Grande Terre. The restaurant is quite good - communal dinner based on the day's catch and expertly cooked French style. Very nice staff - and all in the middle of a nowhere of undulating hills and mangrove-fringed bays. Don't miss.

Certainly a remote facility but well worth the effort to get there! Right on the lagoon walk across the grass into the sea - very shallow at all tides but still very relaxing. Staff delightful and very willing to help. Dinner is at 8 pm would probably preferred half an hour earlier - just showing my age! Cocktails at 7.30...

Right at the top of mainland New Caledonia sits this Accommodation/campground/restaurant. The restaurant was great. It had a set menu and fixed price which included a wine selected by the restaurant. The large tables meant you talked to other guests which was a great way to enjoy the evening. Very good food too. Tip: be prepared for mosquitoes while dining....

This review is for the restaurant only as we had other accommodation nearby. This is a fantastic restaurant, specialising in local produce. We had lunch twice and dinner once. Our family of 3 tried many dishes - lobster, deer, pig on the spit, cockles, fish and other local seafood (konch, clam) - everything was outstanding and beautifully presented. The restaurant...

The location is breathtaking sitting on the edge of the lagoon amidst the palm trees.... We visited from Australia & were worried about the language barrier but soon found that they work it out. The GM speaks exceptional english & she made sure she was around if we needed. It is a long drive from Noumea so i advise either...

It may not be a 5 star dinner service or breakfast but it is a really special place with its quirky bungalows right on the beach. These bungalows give the feeling to be alone at the far end of New Caledonia while being able to have your meals at the restaurant. Wake up in the morning listening to the wild...

After a horrible night battling mosquitos on Bouraké beach, we were so glad that there was a one bungalow available when we showed up. One night was perfect for us, since there isn't that much to do with small children, but it really is an amazing spot if you are child-free. That being said, you could probably wander off the...

Read about in the lonely planet as a place to visit. Long drive but well worth it. The sadness was that I only had one night. Do go for at least 2 to enjoy the empty beaches and hospitality of your hosts. Excellent food,we were in a camping unit which was absolutely adequate but the main rooms looked a lot...

What a little gem the Le Relais de Poingam is! Elian (sp?) is a delightful host with very good English (she has spent time in Australia and NZ). There is a variety of accommodation including a Tepee that we stayed in for 2 nights and loved it. It had it's own beach and a separate bathroom building with a great...

We decided to go for a saturday drive to the northern tip of the island and ended up at this spot! It was worth the trip because we enjoyed the best rock lobster and crab of New Caledonia and as a bonus the restaurant is a stone throw from the beach. I would also like to mention the great hospitality....
