Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Terrific food in the pub (did not stay at hotel). The locals say the seafood chowder is the finest in town. I can not 100% day but it was the best seafood chowder I have ever experienced. Cheers and have a fun visit in the area. The golf courses at Rosapenna are fabulous

This is a great choice for a hotel and it is one my family have chosen many times. The rooms are fantastic and very comfortable and the bathrooms are also very good. The hotel is well positioned beside a lovely beach and easy access by car to this corner of Donegal. Staff are all wonderful and work extremely hard. you will get a good and varied breakfast and a good choice in the bar for food, all delicious and they have a great choice of wine. would highly recommend. thanks Joan and team.

We dined in the Downings bay hotel for their Thursday supper club and it was fabulous. Food choices for everyone and no one was disappointed! It even includes a glass of house wine. Will definitely return when back in Downings.

Stayed 1 night with our boys last week. Room was perfect. Lovely breakfast. Very very nice staff, they couldn’t do enough for you. We had a room for the 4 of us so had a camp bed for our youngest but he slept great. Very comfy.

From the booking of the event right through to saying our farewells, the service was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff members had an eye for detail and went above and beyond to meet every guest's needs. The food over our weekend was delicious, value for money and met everyone's dietary needs. Would highly recommend this venue for a quick drink in the bar to hosting a large event. Thank you to the Connor family who continue to keep Downings on the map for its many visitors.
