Visited Rossapenna recently and was delighted to experience the same high standards as before The ambience , customer service, food and enjoyment were top class. Would highly recommend as a base for visiting a wonderful part of Donegal several fabulous beaches and mountain walks nearby as well as the resorts renowned golf links Cannot wait to revisit again in the next 12 months
As many people this year we decided to book a 1 week staycation and was looking forward to it. We booked via phone, we were not told of any COVID19 impact on day to day operations, as such we booked with the idea we can use all amenities, including spa, etc. On arrival we were told we need to book pool, which is totally understandable. We went for dinner, which was re-heated by the look of the veal batter and not fresh; the breakfast is very plain, all pre-made and if you ask for something that needs to be cooked on spot you will be disappointed, my omelette was raw and couldn't eat; the breakfast selection is very poor, porridge, irish brekafast, pancakes, omelette and fruits with yogurts, same thing every day. We didn't have any other dinners after first night dissapointment. Cleanliness was not a strong point either our room was never hoovered for the duration; the hotel has a smell of old and not fresh, old carpets, upholstery, dated and definitely not the standard required for a 4*. The COVID19 measures are a hit and miss, some people wearing mask, some didn't, from waiters to cleaning staff. When we wanted to use the spa were told due to COVID19 they can't provide the service. So all in all extremely dissapointed, for what was meant to be a nice break away, it was an overpriced b&b, using the excuse of COVID19 for poor sevices and reduction in quality of service, altough the price stays the same- 907€ for 4 nights and a re-heated dinner, and couldn't use any of the amenities "due to COVID19".…
Spent a few days at Rosapenna earlier in August. This was the culmination of a West Coast tour, staying at a number of different four-star hotels...this was our favourite! Our rooms was lovely and generous, with a fine view across the cute Sheepshaven Bay. The communal areas of the hotel are very spacious - this made us feel especially safe/comfortable in light of Covid etc. All staff were particular conscientious in this regard, and full of craic. We particularly enjoyed the pool, taking advantage of this every night before the really lovely food. Can't wait to be back...next time for an extended stay!!
I recently stay at the rosapenna hotel for the 2nd year in a row and if possible it was even better than we remembered. From Edith and Hanah in the front desk to all the staff in the bar and restaurants, the service is just perfect.Serena at breakfast is a huge credit to the hotel and all food that comes from the kitchen is quality all the way, from breakfast to dinner it gets 10 out of 10. The golf course is on the doorstep and the hotel staff and pro shop make every request for golf tee times and buggies so easy you couldn’t ask for more. We stay in a bayview junior suite and the view from our balcony was spectacular. I would honestly recommend this hotel for any occasion and I look forward to returning again to enjoy all the hotel has to offer. Thanks to all the crew at rosapenna and I look forward to seeing you next year. Paul & Angela Hennebry…
Where do I start, only femal staff wearing masks, this was Sunday night, so Monday morning I said it to a member of staff, she said would be great if I could complain to management as it's unfair that female staff have to wear it and male staff on Sunday didn't; also I thought you have to be a certain age to serve alcohol, 15 years of age was our drink waiter, child labour; this morning was looking forward to breakfast, was another let down, they can't even make sure an omelette is cooked, my partner's omelette was raw; so with male staff not wearing masks, underage staff serving alcohol and so called chefs that can't cook an omelette, as a worker in the HSE, myself and my partner wish we went to a different hotel; no apologies for bad breakfast and 200euro a night for a raw egg; thanks for making a fronting worker stay welcoming; they said we couldn't sit by the window as it's full, still when we finished our meal there were 7 tables still empty by the window and nobody was using them, felt like lower class people, but my money will be same on Thursday morning when we are checking out of this nightmare; writitng this on Tuesday by the way.…
