Stayed in August with friends (in tents).
Wonderful area to pitch a tent (loads of space given to each tent)
We camped during covid pandemic and the hygiene and cleaning on site and at the shower and toilets was amazing. They were on top of everything.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Lovely beach right next to the site.
Best camp site for tents I have visited to date

We stayed for 16 nights in July 2022 and had a great time (two adults and a toddler). Our tent overlooked the beach - amazing views - and was one minute walk away.

The facilities were a bit of a walk but you couldn't beat being right next to the beach. Good facilities: one smallish kitchen with two sinks, two small fridges and a small freezer for ice packs; two outside sinks; three toilets and a sink; and seven showers/toilets. One euro for six mins of hot water. Staff were regularly seen cleaning the facilities and they were friendly and helpful.

It's also possible to pay a €20 deposit to key a locker key and charge your phone. Laundry room with two washing machines and a dryer, although the prices were very high. There's a cafe selling ice cream, chocolate and hot drinks. Great playground for toddlers and older kids.

A car is needed, Downings is about 10mins drive away, The Singing Pub was great but a tiny bit too far to walk and there are hikes etc an hour away. Good beaches nearby

We stayed for 4 nights at Rossguill and it was fantastic. We had a touring caravan and although the road to the caravan park is narrow and a bit hilly it is well worth it. The view of the beach and bay from every pitch is breath taking and a very short walk takes you onto it. The beach is safe for swimming although we did try to time our swims for whenever the tide was in over the sandbar just for our own peace of mind. The surfers shower on the way back from the beach was great for rinsing off the sand. With such a beautiful beach so close you don't really need to go anywhere else although a walk to murder hole beach is something we'd recommend. If you walk it's free but there's a €5 charge for the carpark if you take your car. Its a busy site but never felt over crowded or noisy during our stay. The toilets and showers were clean and yes, sometimes there was a queue but that's usual on any campsite. The weather was amazing for our stay but I think this little gem would be great in any weather. We loved it and hope to be back!

On arrival was met by peadar who explained every aspect of site to a T even escorted us to our plot y it had no close water tap even by a hose he did say they were working on that. It had a good concrete level pitch but the designated area at motorhome door was quite dusty and dirty no grass had to clear dog poo from it also to rear of plot most people had dogs on leads but not all that's were the bad points ended. The view was superb the toilets and showers were spotlessly clean and deep cleaned every night very relaxing and tranquil site the weather was kind to us and we had some memorable walks especially murder hole beach, and the singing pub a good walk but worth it will definitely be back here in the future but will try and get a plot closer to a water tap and some grass

Dear Camper, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are sorry certain aspects didn’t meet our high standards. Dog owners are responsible for the cleaning up after their dogs & we do walk around & inspect the Park for rubbish or dog mess but unfortunately there are always some who ruin it for everyone despite all the signage etc. We have already began installing water taps at every pitch. This will be 100% completed by 2021. We really hope you will visit us again in the future. Kind Regards Peadar Boyce Rosguill Holiday Park

Stayed here over the June bank holiday weekend with the family (2A + 3K) We weren't sure what to expect as we hadn't stayed anywhere in Donegal plus the 3.5hr journey, but reading the reviews put our mind at ease. Arrived just after 1 and we were lead straight to our pitch of a concrete base for van or motorhome. A welcome surprise. All the pitches are very well spaced out and you don't feel on top of anyone. The site is on the side of a hill which creates the savage views that u see from every pitch be it van or tent on the site. The gradient doesn't effect the safety for kids once supervised. Every caravan pitch as electric and a tap. No waste drainage which isn't a big deal. Based right beside the beach, with a mini pitch and putt course on your walk down. We found the waves great for young kids and weak swimmers as the waves were small. The site has its own what I call ice cream parlour and coffee shop. Ice cream was a hit with all of us and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back and hopefully this year if we can get in.

Room Tip: Road is very narrow getting to the site, take your time on the corners as it's a busy road.

We stayed at Rosguill camp site May 2022 (recommended by my parents who stayed here a few years ago). I wasn't quite prepared for the perfect remoteness of the location but it's so idyllic, it completely blew me away! Spectacular part of the country for sure.

The campsite staff were friendly and facilities clean. The field is not flat for camping and does have slopes. We had booked 2 nights but only stayed 1. Nothing wrong with the campsite but we were freezing at night....so be prepared if you go earlier in the year. I also think the site would be benefit from a basic shop, given how far it is to get groceries.

The site has pitch n putt, football pitch and playpark. Please note the cafe is not open off season.

The main reason for our stay was to visit the infamous Murder Hole Beach. The new path created by the farmer is arduous and very steep in places. I was glad I hadn't brought the kuds as I'd read it was a 20 min walk each way but it was nearly double that. Well worth it though, it was breathtaking! A must visit.

Up the road, is a quaint traditional pub 'Siōin Ceoil" (The Singing Pub). Loved the atmosphere and the food was pretty good too.

All in all, a great place to stay!

Great place to stay looking forward to coming back in the summer. Might I just suggest because there was a lot of water on the toilet/shower room floors a mop and mop bucket with some disinfectant in them be left inside at the door so as people can dry the floor off after they have had their shower. I've seen it done before and it was a great idea. Hope you don't mind me suggesting this.

Ah we have always wanted to come to this part of the world and Rosguil was a great place to stay.
Stagger pitches on good level hard standings give great views down to the bay which is a 2 min walk through the campsite.
Golden sands and blue seas and great beach showers to wash the sand off. Facilities very good and very clean. (Need a euro for the showers. )
Very friendly staff. It is remote - but we very much liked that but be prepared to drive to get a pint of milk. Only place to eat out locally is the Singing Pub - and it would be a bit of a stretch to walk there and back.
However it’s location, although the gateway to fabulous beaches and great countryside, means the weather is not kind unfortunately !
I don’t think I would come here with small children as if the weathers not great there isn’t a lot to do - however lots of families with children were pitched up and looked as if they were having an ok time !

Beautiful location and short walk to the beach with decent shower facilities at the entrance to the beach

The site is quite hilly and from what I gather there is only one point on the site for both chemical waste and grey water.

The children’s play area is a decent bit away from the actual touring pitches but we felt it was a safe enough environment.

Toilets and showers clean, a little annoying that multiple people try the door whilst you’re on the toilet but a minor detail.

The road in and out is really hilly bumpy and narrow. It can be a little stressful getting there. However once there’s you are in for a treat. Beautiful area. Friendly staff and stunning beach

Would and will go back

Thank you for your recent query. Unfortunately we do not hire out mobile homes. They are all privately owned on the park & we do not permit our residents to let or hire out their Mobile Homes. We also offer Caravan & Camping Facilities for Touring Caravans, Tents & Motorhomes etc. Kind Regards Rosguill Holiday Park
