We stayed with 4 children , ourselves and grandparents over the May bank holiday. The type c slept 7 but we had 8. No problem! The owner and caretaker were so accommodating that they set up an extra bedroom in the separate dining room. We had bags of space even without the dining room. The bedrooms were spacious and two...

What a lucky day it was when I googled for pet-friendly accommodation and found the Coastguard Cottages in Downings! That was 2010. We have been back with our two doggies three times since then. I am sure this is a recommendation in itself. I reviewed the cottage of Type D two years ago and nothing has changed so that favourable...

Booked this for over mid term break for myself, husband and our 3yr old daughter. Booking process was straight forward via phone with Angie although I was a bit miffed as we paid 250 euro for 3 nights and on referring to previous reviewer who paid 210euro for 5 nights, was told that they must have availed of a special...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you had a relaxing and peaceful break, and that the modernity, layout, and cleanliness of the cottage impressed you. You are right about the views: being used to them, we probably don't appreciate them as much as we should! In particular, we welcome your constructive comments. Some...

Stayed here for a week during the first week in October - it was only €210 for 5 nights. One of the best things was the fact that it was off-season meaning there was only us and one other house occupied. Also the roads/cafes etc were all much quieter than they would be during the Summer. It's possible to walk...

We stayed in Coastguard Cottages the last week in Aug/first week in Sept 2011. We had an amazing week in Donegal. We found the cottage (type A) clean, comfortable, well equipped. TV was a bit grainy, but we didn't really mind as we were out each day and most evenings. The double beds were a bit small, but are standard...
