Extraordinary seafood and service between Martin’s hospitality and Dean’s honey. Highly recommended. Upgraded to a sea view room on arrival. Beach a one minute walk from bedroom balcony. Coffee machine in suite adds an extra touch of class. Dinner and breakfast staff all extremely friendly and helpful.

Spent three nights recently at the hotel. What a gem! From check in to check out. Lovely atmosphere and a two minute walk to the beach - which we had literally to ourselves. Our kids enjoyed kayaking which you can do from the beach. This hotel is an ideal getaway from it all. The young staff at breakfast in the mornings where attentive, mannerly and so professional. Lovely to witness. Looking forward to going back again. Thank you!

Stayed 2 nights here at this fantastic hotel. Really friendly staff. Family run hotel with the owners working hands on. Warm welcome on check in with Marion. Really lovely sea view duplex room with couch and tea and coffee facilities on the bottom floor. We dined in the restaurant both nights and this was a gastronomic delight. A path leads down to a private access beach from the hotel and there are a few little inlets to sunbathe. Highly recommend a stay here, there is a lovely personal family atmosphere that is so welcoming. Well done Kathy, Dean and Julian.

Enjoyed a really nice 3 night break here last week in this remote part of Connemara where the next parish west really is Boston!! The rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean, however the small wardrobe space in room 201 was .....well very small. The food in the bar / restaurant was generally excellent....fish and chips best in years...but the rack of lamb poor value at the price. Breakfast often the measure of any good hotel was piping hot, well presented and offered a good start to any day, only to be spoiled by a €3.00 surcharge for a cappuccino!!!...come on, at €90.00 B/B !! The service was good, from a very young and enthusiastic staff, but I might say there seemed to be a lack of supervision and direction apart from one evening when the owner was on the floor. The location is stunning and the surrounding area is beautiful, and we will be back, they are doing so many many things right at the Connemara Sands, thank you for a very enjoyable stay overall. Terry and Miriam F.

We stayed in the Sands for 3 nights in July. The staff were a breath of fresh air, from reception, to the guys in the restaurant/bar to the fantastic breakfast staff everything flowed seamlessly. Great location on the beach, spacious rooms, delicious local food, great cocktails. We will definitely be back.
