Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had the best stay ever. The rooms were the nicest one we have ever stay. Two floor bedroom, with a bath beside the bed. Nice bathroom. Very clean. Private beach to enjoy with kayaking and surf tour guided to enjoy. The staff was very friendly. Shout out to Shannon, Marion, Tony and the manager. They were all very helpful and they made our stay a 10 out of 10. The restaurant food was lovely, we would really recommend to book the glass gallery for dinner. We definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who would like to enjoy a peaceful and lovely weekend.

Our original 5-day stay had to be curtailed to 3 days (work conflict), and Marion couldn’t have been more accommodating in rescheduling our booking. Customer service is superb at this hotel. We were greeted warmly by every staff member, always with a smile and a friendly word on how the day had gone. The hotel is in a wonderful location, the room was spacious and clean, and the views from the room were spectacular. Breakfast was cooked to order and was the highlight of the stay. The cooked and buffet options were varied and everything was delicious. Great service from both hostesses and chefs, and a real attention to cleanliness. Wonderful local, seasonal options for dinner too. We’re already planning to return and look forward to a relaxing stay of at least 5 days or more. You just wouldn’t want to leave.

Connemara Sands is a lovely hotel that manages to combine luxury with a family feel. The rooms are luxurious. Voya products are provided for the shower. There are various luxury treatments on offer in the Spa and a sauna is located on the Hotel's beach which is a short walk from the hotel. The breakfast is buffet style with delicious hot options available also. The dinner menu is excellent. The staff are helpful and friendly. A wonderful stay every time!

We had a lovely time. The room was a split level with a decent shower and sitting room on the ground floor and a very comfy bed ( sbd bath!) on thd second floor. I am obv shoeing my age as I don’t find baths in bedrooms attractive these days! The location is great and the staff lovely. Food was excellent - a good cold buffet and cooked option at breakfast and high quality well cooked food at dinner. The bar and restaurant are combined: I would have preferred a separate bar area esp as there were a number of families eating early and it could be noisy. Overall it’s a good choice for the area and I would happily stay there again

Myself and my my family had a wonderful stay here last week. The location of the hotel is spectacular and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is perfect for both children and adults. The staff are very helpful at all times and make every effort to make guests welcome at all time and provide help if needed. The breakfasts are simply delicious with a really good range of options on the menu. Evening mealtime was a pleasure with a menu full of different options with locally sourced food. Looking forward to our stay in 2024 already!

A gem of a destination, producing the sort of hospitable experience which yu only truly get from a family run operation, and which has, sadly, become all too rare a find on Ireland's west coast. Our trip was just for 2 nights, but every part of the experience had the kind of attention to detail that transformed a quick getaway in Connemara into a wonderfully relaxing and revitalising experience Highlights of the trip were numerous but included a restaurant menu built from the wonderful local produce and an especially delicious locally made ice cream ; the carefully considered and great value wine list ; the lovely old school touch of having an omelette cooked in front of you by the chef for breakfast....and then toast with their own honey form the hives out back! Also, lots of great sports and activities to do, but the 2 person Sauna on the edge at the edge of the beach just behind the main hotel will take a while to fade from memory... bliss. Trying to reorganise my life so each month ends with a 2 night =visit to the Sands...its good for the soul.
