A hidden West Cork gem. Very impressed with this off the beaten track campsite. Beautifully kept, lovely private pitches, great facilities and really good value. Perfect swimming conditions from the strand just down the hill towards Glendore.

Just had a week in this lovely site. Owner helpful & very welcoming. Loved the location for the peace & quiet as it's only small & ideal for couples. Great pubs only a mile down the road and beaches are amazing just a short drive away. Perfect site for touring this beautiful area. Will definitely be back.

We arrived to stay and set up our tent with no issue. We called the owner who said he would be there later and to set up and we could then pay him when he arrived. When he arrived, he came straight over to us and was quite abrupt when asking for payment and we explained we had been on the phone and agreed earlier to set up and then pay him. He did not seem to remember this. Later that evening we were leaving the site to visit a local night kayaking tour we had booked. As we were leaving, the owner stopped us to ask who we were again and where we were going. We explained and gave him our pitch number. This then didn't seem an issue but we felt again he was quite abrupt and rude and did not feel as though he wanted us staying there despite having done nothing untoward and having just had a quiet evening and my friends 3 year old playing with other kids from the campsite. When we returned from kayaking tour, which finished at half 12 and is well known for that in the area, he seemed agitated and we could see him pacing around his kitchen. He stared at us out the window. We were hearing the kettle up for a cuppa and being very quiet as there was a 3 year old asleep in our tent and to be mindful of other campers. The owner continued to stare at us from his window. We felt a bit creeped out, but tried to ignore this. The owner then came out and stood behind his camper van staring at us, but we could see him doing this. Again, felt very weird. He stayed there about 15 minutes. He then came up to us and told us he wanted us to go to bed. I asked were we doing anything wrong, he said he couldn't sleep until everyone was in their tents in bed and to go to bed now. We told him we would be just finishing up tea and snack and going to bed. He stayed standing over us until we packed up. Not very welcoming, quite creepy and felt very uncomfortable. I would not go back. We are a group of 4 in our 30s with a child with us and were not doing anything wrong or even speaking above a whisper. I would understand if we were disturbing people, but this was not the case.

Great location within easy reach of Skibbereen. Peaceful. Spotless. Rural setting. Blackbird nested in shrubs beside my Campervan and was busy with chicks. Worthwhile walk to coast opposite the site. A good place to unwind and enjoy some mindfulness.
