The "Sara de Ur" Hotel / Apartments is a small charming hotel, located in the urban area of La Cabrera, in the middle of the Sierra de Madrid, just 30 minutes from Madrid. We have 5 apartments / duplex of 60m2, fully equipped, 7 double rooms (of which 5 can accommodate 3 and 4 people, 45 m2) and 2 luxurious suites. The complex consists of 3 buildings; Located in a farm of 4500 m2 and surrounded by garden and lawn, that of the windows, is the cafe-restaurant Gaudium, with a large summer terrace. We are only 5 minutes away from the center of town, walking. There is parking, closed and free. Outdoor swimming pool with solarium. 4,500 m2 of gardens.

We booked this hotel for a one night stop driving from Lorca to Bilbao, wish I had kept going. Hotel advertises a restaurant but what they don't tel you it is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, no use if you are staying on a Tuesday. When we arrived a young lady came from the side of the hotel to check us in. luckily I speak a little Spanish. She gave me the room key and told me the restaurant was closed. I asked her was the a restaurant nearby and she told me to drive into the village. After driving around the village finally found a hotel with a restaurant about 300m away. Went into our room and in honesty I was shocked at just how dark it was. Dark wood shutters outside the windows that you could roll up but no way to keep them up. Walls painted a very dark green inside so you had to have the lights on all the time. The rooms are duplex with the bed upstairs but the bathroom downstairs, not very safe if you need the bathroom during the night, best leave a light on downstairs. I am a light sleeper (which I informed the hotel when I booked and requested a quiet room) and found it impossible to sleep as the was so much creaking form the construction of the building, I can only assume that it was the timber contracting as it cooled in the night. The young lady who checked us in asked what time would we leave in the morning, when I said around 10.00hrs she told me that breakfast would be served at 09.30hrs. What I didn't realise was that we would be the only guests staying that night. We went over to the main building at 09.30hrs and a different lady was just opening the hotel and was about to prpare our breakfast. If you class turning on a coffee machine as preparing then yes she was. I didn't bother to look but my wife said everything was in plastic containers…

Verdaderamente sólo podemos lamentar el comentario de este cliente, y no tanto por ser falso lo que dice (que también) sino con la inconsistencia y ridiculez de sus observaciones. En primer lugar hay que indicar que el restaurante del hotel está abierto de jueves a domingo y este dato está perfectamente indicado en la web del restaurante. Es una lástima que este cliente no se haya tomado la molestia en consultarlo en lugar de desacreditarnos gratuitamente. En segundo lugar: es cierto que su duplex, está pintado de un color verde esmeralda, muy elegante. Si al cliente le pareció oscuro, es una simple apreciación personal que no compartimos. Pero podía perfectamente haber abierto un inmenso ventanal de más de 2 metros en la planta baja y otra gran ventana en la planta alta para dar más luminosidad a la estancia. Si no lo hizo fue porque no quiso. En tercer lugar: dice el cliente que había unos ruidos extraños. Y esta observación sólo puede causar risa. En efecto toda la estructura del hotel es de madera y con el cambio de temperatura, algunas vigas crujen ocasionalmente por algo tan obvio que la madera se contrae a veces y dilata otras veces, por los cambios de temperatura que se están produciendo en este més de Junio, 2019. No nos parece que esa sea una razón para quejarse. Por último, en relación al desayuno. Es cierto que algunos componentes del mismo (sobres con azúcar, pequeños estuches de mermelada etc) están en recipientes plásticos para que el cliente pueda cogerlos y llevarlos. ¿Qué tiene esto de malo? Al contrario nos parece absolutamente limpio e higiénico. Y hay que añadir algo muy importante: la actitud tan negativa e inexplicable de este cliente, sólo obedece a una razón: el cliente tozudamente quería aparcar su coche en medio del camino principal que da acceso a las estancias del hotel y no en el aparcamiento (situado a 20 metros de su duplex). Como no se le permitió su insólito capricho,se enfadó y de ese enfado procede este ridículo e inverosímil comentario.

It’s not fancy but it is cozy and well located. The staff are very friendly and there is an excellent restaurant on the property. Our room was a loft-style with bedroom up and a single bed down. Perfect for three people.

We stayed one night in one of the cosy appartements with our puppy as our car was broken, we had to stay in a hotel. The appartement is Well equipped and had a lovely bed On the Floor. Breadfast is Good compared with other spanish hotels.. The owner Chus was extremly helpful. Many hotel owners can take an example of her. She makes several phonecalls to help us repair our car, we als mag check out later as we have to wait On the garage to bring back our repaired car. The hotel had a beautifull garden adjacent to an Italian restaurant. In short a Good place to stay. Thanks Chus!

This excellent hotel is an ideal distance south from the coast and affords a splendid place to break the long drive from 1 coast to the other .Lying 50 miles north of Madrid we 3 stayed 2 nights with our dog in a smart , well appointed 2 storey self catering apartment with very comfortable beds A good continental breakfast was included and an evening meal is available in the town with a very good eatery sharing the hotel courtyard literally 20 yards away. The town of La Cabrera is well worth a visit and has a variety of shops for the travellers needs. There is a local ancient monastery which I understand is worth a visit if time allows. The proprietor is very helpful and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome . The car park is very safe and secure and locked at night. We would definitely use its very good facilities again and as it lies just off the main road, there are no great detours to add to your journey.…

We stayed in one of the rooms in the large house. Big beautiful room with a comfy bed. Large common room on first floor with large fireplace. Very friendly service with good English speaking skills. Breakfast was excellent with a selection of meats, cheese, and breads. Could only stay here one night because of other plans, but would love to go back for a longer stay. The rooms with the kitchens would probably be better for an extended trip. It was an easy 45min. drive from here to the Madrid airport.
