We stayed here the weekend of the Cartmel trail races. Great food - I can recommend the Steak Pie, the Lancashire hotpot and the Sea Bass - all superb. Fantastic fresh cooked English breakfast - all local meats and eggs. Eclectic mix of furniture which adds to the charm. Great range of good real Ales and beers. Nice hot showers...

This is a welcoming, friendly pub with good food and a great selection of beers. Excellent location for South Lakes, comfortable bed and nice shower. The fish pie was excellent, as was the full English breakfast.

perfect location and great rooms. For dog owners it's brilliant as they are made so welcome. Cosy bar, great rooms and a pool table for our kids made this a great place for a weekend. We have already booked again.

Just called at 8.30pm to be told by the guy behind the bar that they had stopped serving food (even though the board outside says 9pm) apparently because they had a power cut ok I accepted that and we turned round to go out only to see another member of staff taking a table of 4 people's order. I stood...

Hi Allan, I'm terribly sorry we could not serve you on Friday night. Unfortunately we had a problem with some equipment in the kitchen that night, which my staff had explained to you and therefore we simply could not take any more guests that had not already booked. It was never mentioned that we had a "power cut", as we...

Pit stop just off the M6 jct 36, dog friendly, simple, traditional but good pub food and fabulous selection of beers, craft ales and lagers. Well worth the break in the drive ad st the foot of the lakes. Perfect.

This is a good country pub with an excellent choice of real ale. The food is also good. Why the have I only given it one star. We stayed 2 nights there and our stay was ruined by the playing of musak with a significant base beat. We were in room 5 and the speakers were in our floor. Our...

There was an offer on when we visited which was an excellent price for room only. Didn't have a meal there but food looked good. Beer was well kept and lager best I...

When I see an independent pub with a wide range of real beer my heart skips a beat. Spoilt for choice after a long day I opted for Lake Blonde and was not disappointed. Helpful staff who were not phased by a group of walkers appearing without notice. We shall return
