We had heard about the Derby Arms when visiting the Strickland Arms in summer whilst at a nearby site with our touring caravan. Nice welcoming country pub. There was an offer on when we visited which was an excellent price for room only. Didn't have a meal there but food looked good. Beer was well kept and lager best I...

When I see an independent pub with a wide range of real beer my heart skips a beat. Spoilt for choice after a long day I opted for Lake Blonde and was not disappointed. Helpful staff who were not phased by a group of walkers appearing without notice. We shall return

Myself and my wife visited here twice over the last week ..the first time just for a drink and get a feel for the place and the second time for a meal. I have visited many years ago but didn't remember it inside...the decor is very homely...there are obviously locals on there way home from work enjoying a pint and...

This was our third visit to The Derby arms and unfortunately probably our last. After a few bigger initial problems you start looking at the smaller ones: the room wasn't serviced after our first night, the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly prior to our stay - really not good, upon entry the room always smelt of tobacco, stains on the...

Hello Tom, thank you very much for your valued feedback. We are truly sorry that your stay with us was not as pleasant as it should have been. Our rooms are serviced and cleaned everyday, and I can only apologise that on this day, your room was missed and not cleaned to our usual high standard. This issue has been...

We enjoyed our first stay in the derby arms . It's a traditional pub with open fires , a good selection of ales and decent food . The rooms are in need of a bit of TLC but can't complain for what we paid .

We stayed at the Derby Arms this weekend and they sadly had a kitchen problem meaning they were unable to serve food. The service we received from Leah was amazing and she handled the situation so well. Leah even gave us a lift to the Strickland Arms (sister restaurant) and arranged a dog friendly taxi to bring us back to...

Stayed here for one night, received an informal yet friendly welcome, given a key to our room and pointed in the right direction. The room was small, no view but had nice traditional furnishings and plenty of tea/coffee, the bathroom was huge with a gorgeous free-standing roll top bath. We decided not to stay in for Dinner, downstairs the bar...
