Booked last minute with a Travelzoo 2 night mid - week break. Far exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. Maintains it's original character & despite the cold weather it was warm & welcoming. We had the Blue Room. The views from the double aspect windows were stunning! Worth every penny! The breakfast was cooked beautifully by Richard the...

We loved it! We spent the weekend here for my girlfriend's birthday, from the moment we arrived we knew we had chosen the right place to stay. We were greeted by the proprietar who checked us in and immediately offered us a drink of tea or coffee which he brought to us in the lounge after showing us our room....

Spent 3 nights at charming hotel where Beatrix Potter spent a summer with her family . It is very relaxing place to stay, sitting in one of the lounges drinking tea, reading books and papers looking out on stunning views. Food is georgeous (porridge with whisky and cream mmm) the host and staff are friendly and attentive. Our batteries are...

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our visit. Excellent breakfast. Views over Esthwaite, woods and peaks beyond really are superb. Good pub within 5 mins walk is recommended. Would certainly recommend.

This lovely country house is in a fabulous setting and has the most amazing views. The food is wonderful, we had the 5 course meal both nights we stayed and this was the highlight of the visit. The house itself needs refurbishing both inside and out and it wasn't very clean especially the shower in our room. We were very...

I struggled to score 4 with the title "very good" because there were a few niggles we had with the place. The good Sorted problems out immediately with out fuss. The breakfast is so tasty and good quality. The advice for day trips was fantastic and enhanced our trip a lot. Daily weather forecast at breakfast is a nice touch....

Great views, great location and great history (Beatrix Potter stayed there in her youth!), Ideal spot for visiting the south lakes. Very good breakfasts in spacious restaurant with view of hills and lake. There is an Edwardian charm about the place and a refinement.

Greeted by Richard and shown to our room, Apricot, when he asked if we would like a cup of tea in the lounge. Beautiful weather so we decided to have our tea outside on the terrace. Wonderful view and a pleasure to sit outside in the warm sunshine. Richard then brought out the dinner menu for us to chose, stating...

We stayed at The ESE Wyke Country House as a birthday treat for myself. What a beautiful place we weren't disappointed and not far from Hill Top the home of Beatrix Potter. Our room was up in the eves room Blue 2 which was lovely and the views from the skylight were amazing. The hosts were very friendly and we...
