We turned up here thinking we had a booking when we didn't but the staff were outstanding and although they had a room for the first night rang round and found us accommodation for the second night. The manager(?) put it against his own credit card to hold the booking. The restaurant was excellent, but the staff made what might... More

Would highly recommend. We had a lovely lunch here. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Brought our golden Retriever a bowl of water without asking and some dog biscuits. Food was great. Good selection. Looking forward to seeing the refurbishments.

Have been here a couple of times now, through the week and on a Sunday. Lovely traditional pub with a pretty extensive menu. Sunday lunch is the best we have had for a long time and we eat out on Sunday every week. Always nice cask beers available. This is a dog friendly pub and apparently does accommodation too. Our... We, unfortunately, had to express our dissatisfaction at one of the wheat beers being off (I'd had one just before so was aware of how it should taste) and your bar staff and mamagement met us with the most unprofessional, incredulous and outright rude response. Instead of simply offering another alternative, you belittled and trivialised to the point of insult.... More

Even with all the vast choice of eateries in the area the Jug and Bottle is always our go to place for an evening meal. The food is 'proper' british cuisine and done with care and obvious talent. The steak pie is outstanding, as is the quality of the beer. Highly recommended

After reading fab reviews we decided to treat ourselves for lunch. We knew the manager, Andy (previously from Ellie's a couple of years ago) now runs the J&B - and he is brilliant. The lunch exceeded our expectations. *Everything* (even the side sauce) is fresh and you can see the chefs cooking in front of you. My mum even chatted... More

Great traditional pub which we haven't visited for several years. Excellent pint of local Brimstage Trappers Hat. Didnt eat but menu looks good. Will definitely come again soon and eat because there were plenty of diners turning up and many tables reserved.

We enjoyed a very nice meal at the Jug & Bottle following a family christening, we had not initially planned to have a meal here but seeing several meals being sent to peoples tables during the early part of the evening, we decided to eat at the J & B if we could find a table, my wife spoke to... Had a very nice meal at The Jug and Bottle. Haven't been for a while and we were very impressed. There were six of us and we all had good meals with a good standard of service and the restaurant was clean. The staff were very nice and helpful. The only problem was that my burger was slightly undercooked. Other... More
