My wife and I are just home after a fabulous 3 day stay at this lovely bespoke Hotel nestled alongside the fishermen's boat launching ramp in the centre of the tiny cove of Portloe. This was our second visit and we had hoped that the friendly welcome and amazing service along with amazing cuisine, would be as good as the...

Our 4th visit here, but a disappointment. Our room was a tiny cottage with a stunning view, however weather was awful and we were really cut off. Had to go out in blustery rain to get to Restauant. In all the rooms we've stayed in previously there's been a turn down service whilst we've been out at dinner, providing a...

I am disappointed to here that we did not meet your expectations on this visit. The umbrella in the cottage is something we will look at but the rain is no excuse to miss your turndown and something I will look into as its these we touches we pride ourselfs on. I do hope we can welcome you back to...

Having been much travelled, I have to say as a UK holiday destination you don't get better than this. The hotel is in a stunning location. The staff are professional and hard working. The food is top notch and they can't do enough for you to make your stay memorable. I will definitely recommend this hotel, and it certainly deserves...

What a beautiful location overlooking the Portloe harbour entrance. After a drive through some beautiful country side down narrow roads, it is a most welcoming location. Waves crashing on the rocks, staff made us feel right at home whilst we awaited our room as we arrived quite early. They made us a lovely pot of tea. We didn't have to...

Fabulous location, extremely helpful, friendly staff and great food to boot !! We stayed in "The Lookout" room which is a converted boat house right on the edge of the harbour. It s a small room - but hey, with a view like that, who cares !>?!

We had a fabulous 2 night stay at the Lugger. The hotel is in a beautiful location and fortunately we had great weather for October and were able to enjoy a drink in the sunshine overlooking the cove - a perfect spot. There are great cliff top walks in both directions and the staff gave us some tips on the...

Having come from two nights at Rick Stein in Padstow where everything was exemplary (you just run out of superlatives) we had high hopes for The Lugger but these hopes were dashed. Better it were to advertise itself for what it is - a Cornish pub with a restaurant and rooms - rather than as a top end "boutique" hotel....

We popped in yesterday for a coffee on a blustery Monday morning. Quite quiet as expected, coffee was bitter and not very nice at all, at £7 for 2 people you would expect better! Not very welcoming service as expected from a nice looking hotel, and no offer of having a menu. They decided to clean and vacuum around us...

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that the team put the hoover on when you where in sheltering from the wind! This is not something that usually occurs and I will discuss this with them. OK so it's not perfect, but we came back and we will keep coming back. Most of all it's the location that makes it special, on top of the harbour wall in a tiny port.
