The hotel was situated right on the sea front so lovely, in a quaint village atmosphere. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, the room was large and spacious, great value for money and much better than most of the chain type hotels. There was a nice balcony too and could sit on even at this time of year. Parking is... More

I've stayed at the Sandgate Hotel twice before. I'm not sure whats happening but the owners seem to leave the hotel to Rack and Ruin. The room we stayed in was falling apart. Bed although cosy was not that secure. Bolts and screws needed tightening up. The TV a little bigger that an A4 sheet of paper. Bathroom shower holder... More

How do I start ? I have been coming to Folkestone since 1977 and know the area well...my family settled there. I was visiting them on Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd October. On our journey from Doncaster we had a puncture so I informed the hotel that we would be late arriving. We arrived at 11.00pm. I am diabetic. I... More

Very nice view, helpful staff, good food! But the hotel is very old, dirty! We had the rooms above, the windows were not possible to open! The bathroom was not clean, found hair from the last guest! On the day we left, we have been early- we got no breakfast and no lunch package-because nobody told us, that we could... More

We stayed for one night at the Sandgate Hotel which was a big mistake. The room was awful. No remote for the tiny television, no walk in shower, no glass in the bathroom, no hairdryer, no saucers for the teacups and only one sachet of coffee and 2 teabags. The double bed was small and creaked, the mattress was hard... More

What a dreadful dreadful place and an embarrassing example of what we are offering for holiday makers from here in this country and from over seas. The room was dirty, the mattress was very badly torn, sheets unironed, ceiling stained all over, walls dirty in desperate need of decorating, furniture was broken and quite frankly only fit for a bonfire,... Have been going to this hotel for the past 2 years since moving to sandgate, was always a fan as thought the food was lovely! And also staff very friendly. Great place to take visiting family members. However things have gone down hill in my recent visit . 4 of us had food and 4 of us couldn't even eat... More

We enjoyed our evening at the Sandgate Hotel. We had a lovely view of the sea from our table. It was raining and it still looked special. We could also the red sunset if we turned our heads to the left. The dinner was very tasty and filling. However we could not eat a starter or a pudding. Only thing... More

The staff was nice and helpful but our bedroom was very dated and the bed was uncomfortable. It was dusty and quite dirty. The tables in the restaurant where sticky and everything was really dated as well. The food was good and the breakfast was delicious. For only one night it was okay but wouldn't go there for more than... More
