We thought the hotel was in Maidstone, but in fact Lenham is 10 miles from Maidstone. Which was not a problem for us, tourists. In fact the village was quiet and charming. The Dog and Bear is a pub, a restaurant, and at the back, away rom any noise, the hotel, with private free parking. The rooms are spacious, well...

There is a lot to like about this lovely old but much extended village centre inn. Particularly, it makes a pleasant stopping place on the way to or from Dover or the Channel Tunnel. Traditional, beamed large bar is obviously a gathering place for the locals but is welcoming, with dependable Shepherd Neame ale. The separate restaurant has a menu...

This is a lovely country hotel in a pretty village. We chose the hotel based on it being pet friendly, great price, nice location and breakfast included. We also ate in the restuarant on the first night. Good points: * Location * Charm * Pet friendly * Excellent service, friendly and efficient * Our room (22) had a private courtyard...

We belong to the shepherd neame birthday club and we always seem to select the dog and bear. The food is excellent and the staff are really good too. Unfortunately one of the new staff had a slight mishap in that when clearing away our main meal the plates tipped and went all down my clean trousers. The manager and...

My partner stayed for Valentines night inc. a three course dinner and breakfast in the morning. The room was lovely, ALL the staff were friendly and helpful, dinner was very nice, the lemon posset dessert was to die for! Drinks in the bar were very reasonably priced and it was a lovely change to be able to play darts in...

Friendly staff, good food & beer! Excellent showers. Felt like a home from home even on a first visit. Excellent breakfast choices all included in the B & B rate. Even a pool table and darts for a proper pub night out.

Small but adequate menu, service was good, food of real quality. Nice beers, pleasant location. Not overpriced in any way. There is plenty of room in the bar for informal meals and a dining area if you need a more traditional setting.
