This hotel/pub is just yards from the Dales Way trail. We had one Saturday night there and it was very busy. Dent is a charming little village set in beautiful surroundings and the George and Dragon is very central. There was noise from locals outside until 1 am but perhaps because we were there on a Sat night. Good pub...

Thank you for your review, firstly I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the food at dinner and breakfast. I'd also like to apologise if the noise from the bar kept you awake. We try very hard to strike a balance between drinkers and residents. We describe ourselves as a pub with rooms, we try as hard as possible to...

The location of this un pretentious pub could not be better. The staff here were very welcoming and helpful. The food was just what was needed after a whole day walking. The room was large and well serviced, clean and had good wi fi.

Stayed for three nights with other family members. Rooms clean and bright; staff - even at their busiest periods - very helpful and considerate; food really excellent. Thank you everyone for making this trip so enjoyable.

This should have been a highlight of my trip but fell short of expectations. When I arrived the only member of staff was busy looking at insurance deals on the Internet and ignored me until I spoke to him. His attitude was a bit dismissive and he gave me a choice rooms to go to depending upon which woman I...

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review I'm very sorry to hear that, this was a reasonably new member of staff and I have addressed this issue. Also the reason for the confusion regarding your room, is that we had to people booked with the same surname, again I would like to apologise for this. I...

After a long day of walking we were glad to arrive. Very helpful staff throughout especially when we wanted an early breakfast because of our walk which they accommodated so brilliantly. Great dinner at the pub and accomodation was perfect.

Staying local and visiting this pub again and as usual never a disappointment. Good food and reasonably priced. Excellent and friendly staff...and even friendlier locals. This place is a credit to the area.

We stayed two nights at the G and D; overall a very positive experience. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was dated but functional. There is no daily maid service, the room remained untouched for our stay, only two days, but we had to ask for milk and tea bags etc. The breakfasts were superb and I'm fussy,...

Thank you for your review. Firstly I would like to apologise for you room not being cleaned on the second day, this must have been overlooked, as you should have received a 'daily maid service' Also a second apology regarding breakfast, you should have been offered an earlier time of 8am for breakfast when you checked in. We do this...

Excellent beer, and some lovely food that complimented the beer. Dent itself it's very small but picture perfect. You can wander round the place take photos and get some great snaps before enjoying the beer. The staff here were friendly and sat us all down in the Resturant area. Loads of food. It's a very small place so leave the...

Set in the middle of Dent, accessed by quaint cobbled streets, this was a real find. Real ales (on-site brewery) and a selection of ciders. The food looked good but I can't vouch for the taste because we arrived just as they had finished serving lunchtime food. Oh well, all the more reason to gp back another time!

Room was good and dog friendly. Good real ale choice. Breakfast good too but tables weren't made and we had to keep asking for things. The staff were doing their job and pleasant but just lacked the enthusiasm of staying here a positive, distinctive experience. The evening meal has two items (the steak and ale pie and the salmon) that...

I'm very sorry to hear of your experience with us. For the music and beer festival we put a different menu on for the weekend, the reason we do this is to speed up service on the festival weekend, it is our busiest weekend of the year. Unfortunately the downside to the menu change is that we run out of...
