Looking for somewhere to stay en route to Cornwall from Wales on-line, we came across this characterful hotel. It offered us reasonably priced overnight accommodation with a restaurant on the premises. Turned out to be a good choice and we were pleased with the standard of comfort, cleanliness and food provided.

My partner and I stayed there for one night and whilst it was generally ok there were a few issues which took the shine off it. The room was clean and adequate with a comfortable king-sized double bed although there was no way of locking the door from the inside nor was there a lock on the bathroom door. There...

Our room in this coaching inn hotel was lovely in terms of decor and comfort. The bathroom was not perfectly clean and I was greeted with a previous residents ball of hair when I entered the shower. A tad disturbing I have to admit but other than that the room was lovely. Breakfast was glorious and the staff were friendly...

The bed was ok, the location is great, the rooms are cleanish, the breakfast chef is spot on, BUT the smell in the common areas ( the hallways etc ) is bad. Really bad. And unfortunately the climb to the top level if you are travelling with full suitcases is a challenge. In fact, I would recommend requesting a room...

This is not overly expensive to stay at, its and old building and a little bit quirky so if you like lifts and swish its not the place for you. Stayed here a couple of times and would again. Good breakfast and also we stayed for evening meals too. A good base to explore Exmoor from.

Stayed here on a one nights stay business trip on a Thursday with a colleague which was booked at the last minute. We ate dinner in the main restaurant on burger night but opted for the a la carte option instead. The food was lovely but service was extremely slow, luckily we were in no rush. I was given a...

Stayed for 2 nights in a massive room (family room) - the bed was so comfortable. I couldn't say the room was quiet, as it was above the door to the pub, where the Saturday night revellers talked for along time outside after closing, then Co-op had an early (Sunday) morning delivery. But the staff were really nice, and the...

My son booked the accomodation quite late for himself, my daughter and me so we had no idea what it would be like but were grateful for anything. The hotel is like a rabbit warren but the rooms were clean, comfortable and quite nicely equipped. I had an en suite shower and loo but no bath. The landlord was friendly...

I booked this hotel on spec, with a recommendation from a friend of a friend of a friend, so I was prepared for anything - almost! I arrived about 4.30pm and tried to park in the very small and difficult to access car park. No space so I left a note on the windscreen with my phone number and went...

I had to stay here only for an evening, as working in the area. Really friendly staff. I had my evening meal & their spring vegtable soup was fantastic & it seemed to be a never ending bowl! Main course was steak, which was equally as good. Room was very clean & comfortable. I would recommend. Excellent value for money.
