Lovely little B&B. Room was nicely decorated and quirky. Kathryn is the perfect front of house, polite and attentive. Homemade biscuits and proper milk were a nice touch. Dinner was lovely, the petit fours and soup was stunning, fish dish was a bit salty and the dessert passion fruit cigar was gorgeous. Great selection of homemade bread to accompany the...

We have visited this restaurant several times and always stay overnight. The welcome is always warm and friendly, the place is unpretentious and homely, the rooms immaculate, the service excellent but it is the food we always go back for. The tasting menu is so well thought through whilst the tastes are to die for. If it is a gastronomic...

Wow. We visited this place a couple of weeks ago and were blown away. Located In the square in Montgomery ( a beautiful place and well worth a visit) it looks quite unassuming from the outside. As we walked in we were instantly welcomed and shown through to a snug for "pre-drinks" during which we were served delicious canapés- a...

Having visited for meals before, and enjoyed our experience each time, we decided to book a couple of weeks or so in advance of our visit. Upon our arrival we were informed that there was set menu for that evening. Some items on the set menu were not particularly appetising to us and we were unable to change them for...

We stayed overnight with the 5-course tasting menu and breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the room was large and comfortable (watch out for some low doorways though in this old property!). The food was amazing, from the canapes, sweetcorn veloute, the John Dory to the second dessert. The wine flight was excellently matched too! The breakfast was...

Stayed overnight following a lovely meal. Rated 5 Star on B & B Guest house not hotel. Lovely place still has the old beams in places. Our room overlooked the square, gorgeous with large king size bed and separate bathroom with huge roll top bath. Great in room facilities and free Wi-Fi. Great nights sleep followed by full Welsh breakfast...

We combined our visit for dinner with an overnight stay and we found the accommodation excellent. The standard of the room and furnishings were exemplary, the bed large and comfortable with crisp white linen and the provision of quality toiletries. Sleep quality was excellent in the quiet town of Montgomery leaving us with a perfect night’s rest and feeling relaxed...

We stayed overnight following a tasting menu experience in the restaurant itself. There are only a small number of rooms, however, they are exceptional. Everything you need is provided to the highest standard and is hard not to enjoy. Homemade biscuits welcome you together with a range of delightful teas/coffees and a jug of fresh milk in the fridge. Top...

Last year we had a wonderful evening at the Checkers, and resolved to return , which we did last weekend. After a long drive up from South Wales, we were warmly welcomed and taken to our very pretty bedroom. Falling asleep almost as soon as I had demolished one of the delicious cookies, we woke to find it was almost...
