My wife and I visited the Lodge on the Loch Hotel during the lockdown restrictions. We had concerns but these proved needless as the hotel was managing well in the circumstances. Our room had a view of the Loch and the magnificent mountain across the loch from our window. We could sit in the bow window of our room and admire that view for hours. The room was large and well decorated. The hotel is in an old building which makes it quirky but at the same time there are no lifts to the upper floors. We had breakfast and dinner while staying and the food was excellent and there was a very good choice on the menu. Our host was Leon who was doing many roles in the hotel due to the pandemic. He was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location to visit Glen Coe, Fort William, Glenfinnan Viaduct and ferry point in Onich to Ardnarmurchan. I would stay there again when we are back in that area.

I stayed 2 nights... The owners are very nice and took time to chat with me, advise me on walks, help me out with a bit of laundry and make me feel special and valued.. My room was beautifully clean and had a magical view over the Loch. The beach out front was great for a walk and to watch sunrise or sunset. The bar has many different beverages for all tastes and the restaurants breakfast is very good indeed... Not pricey either.. Leaving such a warm place leaves me with a feeling I will miss them all. The best place I have stayed on my solo hiking holiday in the movie they call. THE WESTERN HIGHLANDS. Blessings to the Lodge and all who venture there.

We stopped here for a hot chocolate to break up our journey, however our experience was very disappointing and we certainly would not return! The foyer decor is in need of revamp and the overall appearance on entry leaves a lot to be desired. After ordering our hot chocolates, we were served 10 minutes later with 2 of the 3 hot chocolates having large hairs in and around the cup! We returned these explaining the concern, the drinks were then replaced but with nothing even close to an apology. The cups had a very stale smell which meant we didn’t even want to finish our drinks so we quickly paid and left. This hotel/bar has a lovely view so it is a shame that in its current state it wouldn’t be one to visit!

Room Tip: Avoid stopping here for a drink! Rooms might be ok from the looks of it but I wouldn’t recommend...

As they say in hospitality, location, location, location. Personally, I prefer great food over location anytime. Lodge on the Loch has done the double. Situated on the Bonnie Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond they occupy an exceptional, world-class position with stunning views over the loch and the hills behind. Now couple that with the food we had, knockout. We had had, a late breakfast so we went with three starters, Gado Gado Duck, Kerlan Panisse and the Korean Bean Sprout Pancake. The most competently cooked food since an amazing lunch at Barrafina (Nieves Barragán Mohacho). Even asking the staff for their recommendations drew blanks. Everything is great was the response. I concur. OMG

We have recently stayed at this hotel and yes the views over the loch are amazing but that's the only good thing about the rooms! The room is tired and dated with NO shower. Yes there is a big bath that has a shower head attached to the taps but no where to hang it. I had a bath on the first night and when I came out I had mud dripping on my body. When I emptied the bath it was covered in grit and grime, which I couldn't see due to my bubble bath (photo attached) We complained and were told to let the water run for a while before we used it!! We done this but to no avail so we couldn't have a shower or a bath for the rest of our stay. The sound proofing is awful and when someone flushes their toilet in the next room it's like it's in your room! You can also hear the guests in the room above walking about. We even heard someone snoring and I had to put ear plugs in to get to sleep!!! The room looks nothing like it does in their photos!! I would never recommend this to anyone and would never stay there again!!
