What an excellent venue. I brought my partner for a spa day and overnight stop to celebrate our first year as a couple. It was a joy. A lovely room, wonderful staff, a great spa with a smashing pool and outdoor hot tub and cracking breakfast. I have no complaints and would love to return one day. Probably will.

We stayed for a few nights between Christmas and new year - the hotel was all booked up for NYE (which sounds like it was good fun from reading another review!). I'd stayed at this hotel years ago, circa 1997-98, a couple of times, and I was interested to see what it was like now with spa facilities added. The...

The rooms were very dated and the shower was terrible however staff in the main hotel were very helpful and the service in the restaurant was good. The spa was the main reason we chose to stay at Headlam Hall and I was immediately disappointed as soon as we arrived - the spa did not have a welcoming atmosphere. Having...

The hotel is in an old country house with spa facilities in an adjacent new build. The hotel is good value for money. The facilities are good and staff are very friendly. Breakfast is excellent, all freshly prepared. Dinner is good, with large portions of well prepared if unadventurous cooking. The hotel does a lot of weddings and functions, which...

An impressively organised new years meal and dinner dance with a lot of guests but still felt like a more intimate and friendly occasion with excellent food and entertainment. A group of ten of us all thought that this was the best NYE dinner dance that we have EVER been to. Rooms all booked up well in advance probably tells...

its taken us nearly a year to do review, we apologise. Being in the industry ourselves, we only seem to catch up in January each year. We had a brilliant weekend break in in January last year and have such good memories that we will definitely return. Rooms - great, comfortable - wife is fussy and she immediately relaxed which...

Located in a quiet countryside area but easily accessible from the main A1 trunk road. What a pleasant surprise from arrival until our reluctant departure! The staff - clearly well trained and led by an most experienced General Manager - but with an attentive, yet relaxed and pleasing manner - which made the whole experience so relaxing from check -...

2 nights dinner B&B autumn package in a suite in the main house. This will have been our third stay at the Hall. Each time, we've found the experience to be relaxing, whether that be in the spa or walking around the grounds and local countryside. The staff are extremely hospitable as well as professional and the dining is first...

I had booked a Accomadaition with Dinner at 'Headlam Hall' for my Partners Birthday, from the moment on entering the building we were made feel welcome. The Reception and the Porter (Brian) could not do enough to settle us in and explain the facilities on site. The Dinning experience was of a extremely high standard as was the service, the...

Several years ago I visited Headlam to attend business seminars. Whilst these sessions were always frought, I enjoyed to hotel, restaurant and other facilities (except golf). A few weeks ago, I returned with my wife for a short winter break. The friendliness of staff and quality of facilities were unchanged and we were not disappointed. Looking forward to returning.
