We stayed overnight prior to an early flight from Stansted, the room we were offered was a family room so plenty of space, very clean and a reasonable view of the rear gardens. Downstairs there is a traditional bar and next to this is a comfortable lounge and a further dining room, of a contemporary style. The service from all...

A lovely friendly place to stay. Spotless rooms, good food and friendly and helpful staff. The perfect location for us as our son was playing in the British Table Tennis Premier League at the BATTS table tennis club which was only 7 minutes away.

Wonderful pub lunch nice surrounding. Early Sunday lunch great service from the staff. Good choice of starters if having the bread and oil make sure you share them. The Sunday lunch was plentiful with six veg all cooked to perfection. Had two children's lunch these were nearly as big as the adults. Maybe the management should consider the age of...

Lovely pub with genuine vintage feel, open fires and great food. Reasonably priced. Rooms were adequate and comfortable, with all the necessary facilities including great heating. Tea and coffee facilities quite adequate, and very clean

I stayed for one night as I was working in the area, and although this is not a luxury hotel, as a stop over it is really very good. The room was immaculate and well appointed, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean, with a large supply of fluffy towels. Breakfast was very good - I will be back !!

Stayed here before and yet again as a solo traveller the welcome and friendliness was great. I got there too late for food but the landlord took pity on me and made me a sandwich. Slept well, bacon at breakfast was good quality coffee strong and hot what more can I say

Met up with a pal here who I hadn't seen for many years. We needed somewhere equi-distant from our locations with a decent bar and good food. We found it. The bar area was cosy and warm. A good selection of beer and the menu was good and very affordable. We had a great evening.
