Met up with a pal here who I hadn't seen for many years. We needed somewhere equi-distant from our locations with a decent bar and good food. We found it. The bar area was cosy and warm. A good selection of beer and the menu was good and very affordable. We had a great evening.

Having only landed from a flight from Athens a few hours before we booked in, it was lovely to check in with no fuss, go to a nice quiet clean room and sink into a comfy bed. And after a quality sleep.... a quality breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

Saturday night sleepover so we could enjoy a party at the same venue. On arrival we received a warm welcome from both staff and locals. We didn't expect a luxury bedroom with all the trimmings, but for the money we paid our room was more than comfortable and spotlessly clean. Full english breakfast was lush and reasonably priced. (I would... More

We stayed here last night as we were at a wedding at Downham Hall Country Hotel. Just a short journey by a local taxi firm to the venue. We had a nice room with en suite. It was clean and all you needed for a short stay. Ironing board, iron, hair drier and fan if it turned too warm. Lovely... More

We popped in here for lunch on a whim and we were not disappointed. Inside it is very quaint and cosy. An old fashioned village pub with a simple outline. It was quiet and has some friendly locals in the bar area who even engaged with my son. The menu was simple and honest food. The portions were. Good size... More

Not sure if I stayed at the same place as the other reviewers? The place was only average and the room we were allocated, maybe because we had the dog was small and cramped with no view other than the back fence. The room was clean but dated. We ate dinner in the pub, which was OK (it cannot be... More

Lovely warm welcome. Four of us arrived too early to get ready for a family wedding In Margaret Roding. The owner was very helpful and arranged for our rooms to be ready an hour earlier than normal and then came to find us to say they were ready an extra 15minutes early. Breakfast the next morning was varied and nothing... More

We stayed a second time here last week and as before everything was good. We had our 17 month old grandson with us and the staff were very helpful in seeing to his needs. Even a small thing like our breakfast table already having a high chair in place was pleasing. Rooms are large, clean and well equipped. We had... More
