My husband and I went for my birthday. It was an amazing stay. The hotel is just opulence and the best stay for relaxation. The views in the arboretum are second to none. The afternoon tea is worth the title of the best afternoon tea in the area 🥰 Specia shout out to Ethan in the restaurant who worked very hard to make my day so special.
There are two parts to this review First is Food and beverage/ Recently held a welcome dinner for 70 wedding guests in the Brunell room. Having made the arrangements total via email, never seeing the property or trying the food was somewhat apprehensive. Though we only had a buffet and some passed items the hotel did a wonderful job. Food was good, plentiful, what we ordered, on time and a real hit. A cash bar was equally very well handled with a multitude of staff helping guests quickly. Even a glich in the credit card system was resolved quickly and staff was pouring again. We brought donuts with us from London which we decided to put out last minute. Staff handled well, putting on trays and displaying for the 30 seconds they lasted. Breakfast in the morning we beautiful and full of variety, atrium bar had good food, service everywhere was handled by very nice kids. A request for a specialty drink sent one I think through the bowels of the building, but she returned cheery with drink in hand. Did notice that having two weddings in the building Sunday brunch was quite busy but the hotel was prepared, setting up additional space in the atrium bar so no one waited more than a few minutes. Overall, very impressive all the way around! Food service definitely managed well. The rooms: I don't know that the trip advisor reviews accurately portray how beautiful and well- kept this property is. Mixed reviews left us with a felling of apprehension and even some locals we spoke to left us very unsure of what we were getting into. We were wrong. You pull up to a building and entrance that is a throw back to another era. Stately and regal. The grounds are magnificent. Well manicured , vast and green. The inside has a grandeur that i have only seen on television.. The place is spotless. We were a large group at a wedding so we had over 20 rooms in total. The larger ones are very well appointed with very modern bathrooms. The small ones also quite comfortable with new bathrooms. There is one drawback. We were there right after it was hot and the guest rooms never recovered. Being a historic building the windows for some reason did not open much, many sealed shut. Heat was not unbearable but for Americans it was warm in a lot of the rooms. The staff did EVERYTHING they could to help, running fans, changing rooms and showing patience of the staff you would expect to find in some large convention hotel in a city. De vere Tortworth was a very pleasant surprise and should not be missed if you are staying in the Cotswalds. Its definitely worth the road not taken.…
Excellent service by all staff, such a lovely and relaxing place to stay. Our room was a standard room but you wouldn’t think it was, such a big and spacious room.We would recommend it to our friends and families. Will be looking to book again hopefully soon.
We have had an amazing few days stay at Tortworth Court to celebrate my 50th birthday. All the staff on all levels were very friendly, approachable and helpful. A beautiful hotel with great facilities, lovely food, lots of history, picturesque inside out. Lovely touches like a birthday card and chocolates waiting in our room. A special desert after one of our meals. Would highly recommend and will most definitely be returning. Also dog friendly with a dedicated dog wash area. Really does tick all the boxes.
Rebecca at reception is AMAZING..I left my dinner jacket behind me and she located it with kindness and professionalism. It’s on its way back to Belfast now in the post. The entire staff and hotel is incredible. I would like to bring my dog next time. Thanks Rebecca.
We came for Mothers Day lunch and had a lovely time. The restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive, especially Luke, Cody and Danka who made sure we were happy 100% of the time. Thank you to the Tortworth Team!
My wife and I stayed at Tortworth over the Valentines Weekend, which was our third visit there. We love Tortworth and want to say a huge thank you to all the staff there, for giving us the VIP treatment. We used the pool every day, really enjoyed the wine tasting evening and gifted each other some pampering in the spa. Breakfast was brilliant, as was the evening meals. Our room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. A really chilled weekend. Highly recommended. This is our 'Happy Place'
We stayed for one-night as part of a spa break package, booked for my partners birthday. It was a wonderful break. The package included a deluxe mansion room, treatment and afternoon tea. We arrived at 6.30 and promptly checked in, however there was a small issue with the room we were booked into. We contacted the reception and the hotel manager arrived very quickly and escorted us to the bar for a drink. After a small investigation we were checked into a new room. This all took around 90mins due to a large convention taking place in and around the hotel, most of the rooms were booked. Each of the staff were wonderful, needlessly apologetic, and couldn't do more throughout our stay. Our new room was perfect; very comfortable bed, rainfall shower, deep bath and huge windows overlooking the grounds. We were able to connect the Nvidia Sheild to the TV without issue. The room has a small fridge, teas and coffees and oat milk sachets - which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered room service which was faultless - my partner very much enjoyed the squid. Breakfast is a self-serve buffet, plenty of choice and diet alternatives. We didn't go to afternoon tea as the dining area was rather busy but judging by the quality of the food it would have been lovely. We had treatments booked at the spa the following day. The spa uses Temple Spa products which smell and feel wonderful. Our masseuses were very friendly and professional and left us both feeling pampered. The building and grounds are beautiful - it is the kind of magical property that had us talking wedding arrangements and guest lists. Plenty of wonderful walks around the arboretum, most of which is off the hotel grounds - very quiet and muddy this time of year. Overall we had a wonderful stay, my partner had a fantastic birthday and felt truly relaxed throughout. We have already picked our room for the next visit. It would be wonderful to have more information on booking afternoon tea and treatments when booked as part of a package. We did not know if these were pre-booked so called in advance and were told that it would very quiet so we could go when we wanted, that was not the case. It was no problem but it's never nice to miss out. …
Had afternoon tea at this stunning venue. The art work in the reception is amazing and the grounds beautiful. Free to walk round the grounds afterwards Amazing value at £25.00 with a really nice vegan option. Staff were professional and pleasent Nothing to fault.
Amazing weekend, the room (suite) was fabulous, spacious room, beautiful bathroom and shower and the bed was so comfortable. Great leisure facilities. We had a swim and chill before heading off for a full body massage in the spa which was super relaxing. We then dined in restaurant 1853, the duck breast and sea bass were amazing and the staff were very attentive. I had the most amazing birthday weekend retreat all thanks to Louise who went that extra mile, will be sure to return, thank you Tortworth you were amazing xx
