We visited The Gables for two nights (and wished we could stay forever) after booking it online. We were not at all disappointed. A welcome cuppa and cake was enjoyed as we got to know about the home and family. We stayed in a beautifully appointed and spacious room with everything you could possibly require. The ensuite was large, new...

Angus is a great guy and was the perfect host. The room far exceeded our expectations, expertly decorated and furnished. Breakfast was perfect and the rest of the house is very interesting. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we would love to come back here for a long relaxing break.

Everything was brilliant about The Gables, from the traditional yet modern decor, to the more than welcoming owner. I couldn't fault the place if I tried. I would highly recommend and intend on visiting again.

Lovely stay at the Gables. Beautiful setting and Angus the host was extremely helpful. Rooms were very spacious and only 20 mins to Berwick despite its rural setting. Would definitely stay here again although is price is top end for a b&b.

Took a 4 night break here. Angus, Claire and family could not be more welcoming. This former vicarage built in 1875/6 is wonderfully appointed and decorated sympathetically. There are only 2 rooms...very quiet and a good jumping off point for the Northumberland coast.Great breakfasts. Knowledge of the local area and enthusiasm. Highly recommended

Angus cooked us an amazing breakfast in the morning and was also very friendly as well as helpful with information on the area. They are both natural hosts which...

This was our first time at the Gables but already hope that it won't be the last. Angus couldn't have been more welcoming and the house is delightful with lovely views from a beautiful bedroom. Angus gave us good advice on where to eat in Berwick ( Foxton's) and the breakfast he made saw us both through the whole day!...

6 miles out of Berwick, this is a real gem. If it's peace and quiet you wan, then you won't go wrong. Superbly appointed, in wonderful grounds with stunning scenery. Angus is a fantastic host and should be immensely proud of what he has to offer. His breakfast is just about the best I've had in a B&B. No hesitation...

What a warm and friendly welcome. The Gables near Berwick on Tweed is a great place to stay. Not far off the A1. The house itself is a lovely Victorian built property very well maintained by Angus and Clare the owners. Beautiful rooms. However the best part is the friendly and helpful Angus. What an interesting man. If you are...
