We had a two night break here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was compact (No.1) but had everything we needed and a great view over the village green. The room TV's have a DVD slot and reception has a large selection of DVD's that can be borrowed. We had an evening meal which was well cooked and well...

The Hotel stands in a stunning location in a picture postcard village in North Yorkshire. We had Sunday lunch last weekend. The staff were very welcoming and the several log fires burning made for a wonderful atmosphere. The menu was good, we had beef and pork which was beautifully prepared. The vegetables were great and the cauliflower cheese was a...

Just booked a two-night stay at the Worsley and discovered a little gem! From the warm welcome when we arrived, to the great customer service and excellent food, it was five-star service at three-star prices. The double room, although compact, was comfortably furnished, with lovely views across the village green. The breakfast was a real treat and substantial enough to...

Have stayed at 5 star hotels which should have been 3 star, but this 3 star hotel should be 5 star. OK, no pool, gym facilities or 24 hour reception - good! Wouldn't use them in any case, What you get is a clean, comfortable and cosy hotel, excellent food, comfortable bar, little snugs with open fires, superb breakfast, very friendly...

We booked a two day stay at the Worsley Arms with our dog so that we could walk and explore North Yorkshire. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we walked in the door. The room was a good size, the bed comfy and the en suite perfectly equipped, even though it did mean negotiating stairs! We...

We have just returned from our seventh stay, again we had a very enjoyable visit. We always feel so relaxed, with excellent food and wine, and very friendly and polite staff, where nothing is too much trouble. Hovingham is a lovely village, ideal for lovely walks, and if the weather is not too good relax in front of the coal...

Our part was en-route to Helmsley and, having encountered roadworks and delays at Malton, we decided to look out for somewhere to have lunch. We spotted the rather imposing Worsley Arms on driving through Hovingham and decided to stop. First thing, this is not just a pub it is a hotel - and a rather fine one too. On arrival...

Stayed at the Worsley Arms for a 2 night break to visit nearby York. Hotel is in the centre of a lovely small stone village. The welcome was warm and the staff friendly. Ate at the hotel on the first night and the food was delicious. Prices reasonable too. Crickets bar is warm and cosy, and a great place for...

We wife and I stayed one night after dropping our son off at nearby Ampleforth College. We had a very good rate, having booked directly with the hotel and had a very pleasant stay. Our room was on the small side but had a full bathroom. Everything that was required for a pleasant stay was there. In the evening we...

2.5 hour journey from the West Midlands so good time made. Friendly greeting and taken up to room 1 overlooking the road and village. First problem is that we had to clean the room with flash wipes in areas that had not been touched and were not hygenic .I mentioned this as well to the Manager, as well as the...
