Had a meal and overnight stay and everything was great, the food, drink setting and staff were all top notch. The food was pub fayre made beautifully and portion sizes very good, as a real ale drinker they had a lot of choice on tap. The place has a very friendly vibe and the surrounding moorland simply stunning.

Coast to coaster stopped here mid-day for tea and warmth. Very old and authentic. Definitely worth a stop and hot drink! Hotel too but we didn't stay but walked on another 10 miles or so. No food until noon!

We use the Lion Inn whenever we ramble around this part of the world - an excellent selection of ales - but we gave up eating there some time ago because it is not very cheap. However the food is good but don't let this tight Yorkshireman put you off from trying it

Stopped off here on the way back from a day out with friends. Such a lovely quaint English pub. Great range of food available including vegetarian options. Food portion sizes are huge! Very filling, delicious and worth the money.

The lion inn has always been and will remain my favourite place for bar meals. Our visit today was again awesome for food. However we felt slightly let down on the lack of baby facilities. The staff did not offer us a high chair and there was no baby changing facilities. As a family venue this could do with some...

This place does exactly what it says on the tin. Great staple food, good quality ... nice choices, and good service. The beef and mushroom pie is excellent as is the chicken parmo. I'd recommend this place without hesitation.

We stayed on a Tuesday b& b overnight in the superior room ( number 9) we also decided to have dinner which was both delicious and generous portions. The staff are absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Very and approachable. In all a brilliant stay.

OMG was put into room 10 which is above the bar and the noise was unbearable, The bath had hair covering plug hole, dirty toilet and sink, door was covered in dust, carpet was dirty, room is too small and now have a...
