Our room was nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed, a small bathroom and two balconies. The hotel is situated right next to two chair lifts which was ideal! Breakfast offered fresh fruit, omlettes, eggs (fried, boiled or scrambled), cheeses and cold meats. The four course evening meal was well presented by friendly and attentive staff. Also available is a children's playroom and TV room with widescreen TV. The wellness can only be described as "klein aber fein". The Ski and bootroom is in the basement with a heated rack to help dry skiboots overnight. If you're looking for a skiing holiday in Bettmeralp I would highly recommend this hotel!
Since 5 years we go to hotel Bettmerhof in the beautiful village Bettmeralp in the Sportferien We are a family with 2 daughters and always have the 2 connecting rooms on the first floor. The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing. Directly on the slopes. Breakfast is amazing, even for us with 2 glutenfree people all is well arranged. The 4 course dinner after a nice skiing day is of high quality. The staff is service minded, friendly and helpful. I can only recommend it. This year we plan to visit Bettmeralp and the hotel as well in summer to explore the surroundings in a different season. We can’t wait .
My second time staying at Bettmerhof and always a treat. You will never meet a better host owner than Chris - he is amazing and truly takes an active interest in every guest. He greets you by name, helps you in any way possible and is always present and constantly working to serve his guests. One morning we were leaving early to hike and he prepared wonderful lunches for our group. He is one of the most pleasant people you will ever meet. Tamara, the wonderful host, is also amazing. Super friendly, helpful and always greets you with a smile. The hotel itself is outstanding. You will not want to miss dining at either of the restaurants. The primary restaurant serves a magnificent 4-course dinner that is always a treat and the pizzeria in the lower level serves amazing pizza. The hotel spa is also very nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The outside patio is a lovely place to have and afternoon or evening beverage and bite to eat while enjoying the incredible views. If you are visiting the Aletsch Arena region, you will definitely want to stay at the Bettmerhof!…
We stayed with my parents and our children at the Bettmerhof and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were spacious and very clean and the view …… just stunning. The food and its presentation was great and we all enjoyed the variety of food offered to us. The most important and impressing for me was the way we as guests got treated. All the personal was extremely friendly and forthcoming. We got greeted by our names which made it very special and the owner of the hotel was always around to help, assist but also tell about the history of the hotel. Great stay for a three generation family
I really loved staying at this beautiful family hotel located right next to the ski lift taking you up to Bettmerhorn. Extremely friendly and helpful staff is looking after you here. The rooms are clean and spacious. Only thing, there is hardly any hanging space for jackets and shirts etc.which is a bit of a handicap when traveling in winter and not alone. The food is excellent, prepared with much love and care. Plenty of good wines available and the breakfast bar has a wonderful selection of local food items. I will definitely return if l get a chance. Oh, and the skiing experience is amazing too!
We spend a few nights in this wonderful hotel were hospitality is made into an art. It's a intimate, cosy hotel with a very friendly staff. It's a good starting point for trekking and walks in the surrounding. Beautiful mountain landscapes in which you can easily walk. We had a wonderful room with a balcony and a view on the Matterhorn. The only shortcomings were a rather small television and a not too good wifi signal, but these are minor issues.
We stayed here for 2 nights in August 2019, during what should have been optimal weather, but got a complete rain-out one day and mostly clouds the next. Even with that, we had a great time, as the hotel was spotless, the food at the restaurant (both pizza and non-pizza) was great, and the personal detail from Cristian and everyone else was fantastic. Three of us shared a pizza one night (we just weren't that hungry), but Cristian brought us a second one - at no charge - anyway, figuring we'd go hungry otherwise. The folks there also gave us maps and good instructions for the hike we were attempting to do (Aletsch Glacier Trail), which eventually we did with so-so weather. When we were leaving, there was a couple checking in who had obviously been there plenty of times in the past - we weren't surprised to see this at all.…
This is Swiss friendliness! The hotel has wonderful wooden rooms, beautiful bathrooms, most rooms have a magnificent view & the people working must be carefully chosen on kindness. The owner and his family run a really nice place, on the Main Street of traffic-free Bettmeralp. Right next to 3 ski lifts, about 1500 meters above the Rhône, with a magnificent view on the Matterhorn, the Bettmerhof is the place to be, even in summer time. With a nice Swiss breakfast, you make a fresh start of the day. Even for a nice coffee or tea outside on the terrace, Bettmerhof is great. And for dinner, do try the restaurant and the pizzeria. Great dinners for a fair Swiss price.
We returned to the Hotel Bettmerhof after a 3 year gap; we had previously visited every year since 2008, to find it wonderfully unchanged. The owner, Mr. Christian Eyholzer and all of his staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us, the food was fantastic and the room beautifully appointed with a walk in shower and view of the Matterhorn. Since we last visited the owner has made improvements to the restaurant and breakfast room; he refurbished all the bedrooms 3 years ago, and his attention to detail and hospitality made the whole holiday a delightful experience. The resort, Bettmeralp is picture perfect; as nice in winter as in summer. We will definitely not be waiting 3 years to return.
All guests greeted by the owner and/or his wife. Transport available to collect cases and guests from the cable car but a lovely walk through the village to the hotel is not to be missed. Very comfortable rooms and the quality and presentation of meals was excellent and a real treat. Staff very helpful, friendly and attentive to all the guests needs. Any queries or advice about the area and special meal requirements were catered for. A most welcoming and enjoyable stay with splendid views.
