The rooms are very nice but without wardrobe...the people at the reception are very kind and nice but in two days I had no breakfast..... the other two days I decided to avoid to go to the bar and wait for the waiter. What a pity!

Nice hotel, away from the big ones. From Oslo airport just take local bus. Very cozy atmosphere, breakfast in bakery, good restaurant and cafe with beer brewn on site. Cozy room: no television set: part of hotels philosophy. Railwaystation aprox 15 min walking: train to Oslo. Let yourself be surprised

First - if you drive quickly run in and get a parking pass for the car park (leaving someone with your car if possible). This hotel is in the middle of the town centre - just opposite a large shopping centre (actually opposite TGI Fridays!) but slightly down the slope. Firsty figure out which door to go in - we...

Nice hotel, close location to the city centre yet a hint of peace & quiet. The rooms are fresh with calm and nice colours. No TV - but instead of spending time in front of the TV I reccomend a nice dinner in Sundbytunet restaurant - why not try some of the locally brewed beer.

I stayed here for two nights last September for business. My colleague and I had some difficulty trying to figure out where the “lobby” is but eventually was greeted at the bakery (part of the complex) by the friendly staff. The bedroom is decorated in traditional "barn" style furnishing and the bathroom is clean. We had a room with the...

I stayed for two nights and on arrival mentioned the parking to be told it was ok. 20 minutes later I checked again and was given a notice to put in the windscreen. In that short time I had been issued with a parking ticket!! The hotel owners assured me they would deal with it and took the ticket from...

I stayed two nights for a musical visit and it was close enough to Ullensaker Kulturhus where I spent most of the stay. The hotel was great and staff superfriendly. Room was large and well furnitured but no closest and no tv (due to staffs hotell philosophy). You should also be awere that theres a lot of uneven ground in...

I was one of 4 staying at Sundbytunet for a 3 day course a few weeks ago. While others were coming from the surrounding area to partake in the course, I considered myself extremely privileged to be staying there. Everything from the conference facilities, the hotel room, service, micro-brewery, restaurant, breakfast and chocolatier was top notch. This is a fantastic...

I have had the pleasure to stay here once, and I will be back in ten days. There are only a few rooms. All rooms are in a Laura Asley style. They are equipped with a large bathroom. Laying down on the bed is like magic. I don't know where they got the matresses from, but I have seldom had...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Centrally located in the eastern part og Norway, 10 km southeast of Oslo Airport Gardermoen, and 40 km north of Oslo, Sundbytunet, a thriving farm like complex has been re-generated based on history and tradition of seven generations of farming at this location. Here you will find year-round offerings for all occasions with a focus on art & crafts, memorable experiences and scrumptious food & beverage.  "Sundbytunet" consists of six buildings around a courtyard, a 9 hole adventure miniature golf and plenty of parking. BREWERY AND DISTILLERY We have our own micro-brewery and distillery and are crafting our own beer and herb infused schnapps. Alongside the brew-tanks in "Bryggeri-kjelleren" you can enjoy our brew and perhaps you'll even see the brewer-master at work while you are there.  Rustic interior and atmosphere makes it the ideal meeting place to share conversations, laughs and great stories over a glass of beer or fine wine.  You may also find yourself in the company of musicians or artists who also contributes to the atmosphere whether you are inside or catching a few rays in our pleasant courtyard.  The distillery is located in a separate building in the courtyard.  It has large windows so you may view the process of the making of "brennevin" that we use to create Sundbytunet's herbal schnaps...........As you probably will be sipping in great company when you get here. RESTAURANT In our restaurant, "Smaken av Sundbytunet", we specialize in local food, with short-traveled, produce, meats and fish. We take pride in serving traditional regional fare with an artistic twist.  The menu is small and based on seasonal available goods, consisting of broad flavors and succulent creations.  As you are enjoying the scrumptious meal, you may hear tales or stories being told about the area or the farming here at "Sundbytunet" over the past 400 years.  Top it all off with a cold glass of the brew-masters finest. BAKERY At Sundbytunet, we are proud to serve fresh baked goods every day of the week. Our extraordinary craft-bakers make everything from scratch and you may witness them make such as foccacia, lefse or old-school Norwegian Flat-bread in the wood-fired clay oven.  Our "Baksthus" seats up to 65 guests, plus just as many on the patio outside in the courtyard.  There you can sip a cup of coffee or enjoy a glass of good wine.  Experiences such as book signings or an artist painting portraits. ACCOMMODATION We offer accommodation in 11 uniquely decorated guest rooms, each with a different decor. The rooms are bright and roomy with good views.  Breakfast is to be enjoyed in the "Baksthuset". None of the rooms have mini-bar or TV, The experiences are found outside your doorstep! HANDLERIET Our farm shops is an exciting little oasis located in the center of the Sundbytunet, and here you can find some of the same ingredients as was used to prepare your great meal in "Smaken av Sundbytunet Restaurant", beer bottled here in our micro-brewery and trinkets & gifts.  You may be inspired to create the same food at home, that you enjoyed here or just let yourself be tempted by different tastes and products. BANQUET ROOMS In Sundbytunet's largest building, the barn, you will find our three banquet rooms: "Stor-Stua", Romsaas-stua" and "Sundby-Stua". With room for up to 200 guests, this is the perfect venue for epic events, anniversaries, gatherings, courses, seminars, meetings or just laidback outings with friends. The rooms are separated and can hold respectively 120, 60 and 30 visitors. Food and beverages are available from the restaurant (separate banquet menu) and all rooms are neatly decorated with old memorabilia on "fresh canvas". These rooms are popular, so ensure you get your "Stue" reserved well in advance for your event! TRADE Throughout Sundbytunet you will find our cozy craft shops. All are unique and many store-keepers show the making of their arts & crafts and special products. You will not find any big chains or mall-sized premises, but 13 unique stores, all with exciting experiences. POTATO CELLAR and "GRILLSTUE" Partially under ground is our "Potetkjelleren", re-created for cozy evening gatherings. Here, by the hearth, you and your fellow guests sit on real animal hides, enjoy "Glogg" or other warming beverage offerings along with good stories.  It's here memories are formed.  Order our craft-beer or a sampler of the Herb infused schnaps.  You will be accompanied by one of our storytellers.  With this, the evening is off to a good start!  In the "Grillstua" we can also provide  barbeque and other tasty treats. If you are lucky, the brew-master may come knocking on the door jamb and share a story or two with you. HEALTH AND WELLBEING On Sundbytunet we also have a quaint hair salon with 4 hairdressers and a medical center with two general practitioners. In the same building as the doctors, alternative medicine/healthcare is also an option.  All in a friendly setting. As you well can see, this is a lively and eventful place where you need to slow down and take your time.  We invite you to stop by and check us out. We are looking forward to seeing you after the opening 11.11.11! ... more   less
