Just thought to stay a night here on the way back to Calais from Dinard. Clean and simple and with a competent restaurant and pleasant service. It's all down to expectations.
Yport is a curious place, a tiny port on a beach with a casino, quite incongruous.
The other strange thing is the huge area of Japanese knotweed which spans the length of the beach between the edge of the beach and the bottom of the cliff.

Yport is a small town in a fold of the chalk cliffs and is slightly a step back in time with Blue and white beach huts and similar bigger huts serving drinks and hot snacks. The beach, if pebbly was very clean and hoovered up every morning.

The bedroom was a good size, clean, fresh and the shower excellent. Friendly welcome and helpful with maps for walking, which was good and varied. Other brochures with things to do and visit. The dogs were not allowedin bedrooms but were able to come into the restaurant. Breakfast was standard french with better croissantes than sometimes.

We loved listening to the surf on the pebbles from our bedroom. The only problem we had which was not the fault of the hotel was that 5 young people chose to play charades til 5am the biggest problem that they were not silent about it. When they started rapping to some background music I shouted 'Silence!' out of the window and they disappeared at speed. (Sould have acted sooner!)The debate I suppose is, was there anyone from the town that might have taken action as they were quite a disturbance.

Restaurant reviewed in restaurants.

A great restaurant in the pretty town of Yport. We ate there twice, after walks along the beaches at Yport. We plan to return. An excellent menu: local fish, and traditional French and Norman dishes. Friendly, helpful and relaxed. Fabulous views of the chalk cliffs and the bay. And a bonus: our little dog was made very welcome.

La Sirène has a one-of-a-kind location in the charming coastal town of Yport. Built on a hill, they have a pub at street level, a restaurant on the second floor, and two floors of rooms above that. There is no elevator, so you have to be able to carry your bags up at least two flights of stairs. The proprietress, Nathalie, is a welcoming hostess who exudes a true joie de vivre. The room furnishings and decor are simple but comfortable, and the view is wonderful. The restaurant offers a delicious French dinner menu, but the petit déjeuner is basic continental. There is plenty of free parking in the large public lot at the bottom of the street.
